ITC’s expansion of Souvenir Graphic
(Photo-Lettering), Ed Benguiat’s revival of Souvenir
(ATF, 1920), originally designed by Morris F. Benton in a single
style in 1914. Souvenir Graphic spans five (upright)
weights and came accompanied by Souvenir Balloon, a
low-contrast variant [PLINC One Liner 1971]. The ITC version
spans four weights with newly added matching italics, plus a Bold
Outline style. ITC Souvenir was the first typeface to
be released by ITC, together with ITC
Avant Garde Gothic.
Neufville had a (wood type?) adapation in five poster sizes (4,
6, 8, 10, 12 cic) [1970s catalog].
Demibold and Bold weights were adopted by Mecanorma. [Mecanorma 1974]
