Issued by Bauer in 1902 [Wetzig 1926–40] with alternates for ‘H’ and ‘T’. Accompanied by a set of initals which were also available for two-color printing [Bauer specimen]. Imperial is a heavier weight.
Heidorn credits the design to Carl Albert Fahrenwaldt [Moorstation] but this is unconfirmed by other sources.
A phototype adaptation is shown in the Solotype catalog in solid (Hohenzollern Normal) and outline (Kimberly Outline) styles. Lettergraphics had it as Zwief.
Digitizations by Petra Heidorn (2004) and by Peter Wiegel (as CAT Hohenzollern, 2014, adding Cyrillics). See also Deathspell by Carmel Type Co. and Rudolsbad (RMU, 2024).
