First release date is unclear. Probably predates Gans’ version (Grotesca Ideal) which appears in their 1922 catalog.
As for post-metal revivals under the Aurora name, it appears that only condensed styles were available for phototypesetting. Bitstream issued two styles in digital format as Condensed and Bold Condensed (used for sample).
