Some I think rather pleasing photographs of HarperCollins Publishers’ 1992 collected, illustrated The Lord of the Rings, by J. R. R. Tolkien. The font, Pilgrim – a Walter Tracy recutting of Eric Gill’s Bunyan – is elegant and graceful without ever becoming overbearing or ostentatious, and has risen to among my favourites – ever.
