The jacket (as well as the interior) was designed by the author himself, using the Clarendon adaptation made by Hermann Eidenbenz in 1953 for Haas.

This is the second, revised and expanded edition. The first one was published by sgm-books in 1949, in a different format and design, see Felix Wiedler’s book (design) story #578. The Niggli edition may be regarded as an unofficial member or cousin of the Lettera series, which has the same design and format. Started by Armin Haab and Alex Stocker in 1954, it was later continued by Haab together with Walter Haettenschweiler.
