Là-bas (“Down There”, “The Damned”) was first published in 1891.

Covers of two books by French novelist and art critic Joris-Karl Huysmans (1848–1907), published in 1978 in Garnier-Flammarion’s paperback series. Design by Gérard Deshayes.

The typeface used for the titles and the author’s name is Victorian, a revival of Victoria (Flinsch, before 1900), drawn by Freda Sack for Letraset in 1976. The band with the publisher’s name is set in overlapping outlined caps from Eurostile Bold Extended.
