By 1958 the slaughter of Glasgow’s once great tramway network was well underway and in 4 years time nothing would remain of the municipal system that had been regarded as one of the world’s biggest and best. The ‘railway’ relates to the City’s underground or ‘Subway’ system. The cover – very much like an Ian Allan ‘ABC’ by Wolstenholme, is by M Morton Hunter. — Mikey Ashworth
