The Anarchistic Pogo Party of Germany (Anarchistische Pogo-Partei Deutschlands, APPD) relies on Rudolf Koch’s Deutsche Schrift for its vulgar campaign pledges. It is the only consistent use of blacketter – albeit satirical – in a German party identity in recent years. Posted here to be referenced from my blog post about the 2013 Volksbühne Berlin posters.

“You have no choice” – unlike 1998 and 2005, the APPD does not take part in the 2013 German federal election.

  1. This entry should be labeled as “staff pick”. Don’t you think?

  2. Why? Not that I was opposed to adding that label, but I am curious to hear what makes this one special, in your opinion. Staff picks naturally are assigned on a deliberately subjective base. Did you know that you can “like” a Use?

  3. Mhm… I always thought that staff picks were picked up by you, or Stephen, or any other “member of the staff”. I always thought they had some kind of “authority aura” over the rest of the picks.

That was the reason of my first comment.

By the way, how do I get reply notifications to my mail or something I just noticed you did answer me the same day I posted my comment.

  4. Yes, the picks are assigned by the FIU staff members. That doesn’t mean that each contribution by one of us is automatically deemed worthy of that label. It is reserved for outstanding uses, or for personal favorites. There are no strict criteria. For example, only a quarter of Stephen’s more than 1,000 posts are staff picks. Hey, I just upgraded this one to staff pick level!

For your other question: I’m afraid there is currently no way to get notifications of replies to specific comments or threads, but you could subscribe to the Comments RSS Feed. The footer menu has more feed options.

  5. Thanks and thanks, Florian. The “staff pick” thing is more clear for me now.
