Nothing but the best for the publisher’s sister-in-law! Mildred Knopf (1895–1983) was a famous hostess and author of six cookbooks. The date on the title page is the date of the eighth printing of this book, which went through two printings before the official publication date of October 16, 1950.

Sorry about the poor quality of the jacket.
