Hello, the typeface isn’t ITC Clearface but Clearface Serial Xbold from SoftMaker Foundry. Clearface Serial matches one-to-one to the Apartamento logo. Cheers
Hi Andres, thanks for your comment!
You are right: Apartamento doesn’t use ITC Clearface, but rather a version of the expansion made at Brendel and Pabst sometime before 1989, that is Clearface Serial.
Judging from the fonts embedded in pdfs on Apartamento’s website, technically it’s not SoftMaker’s version, but rather “Clerface” by B & P Graphics Ltd, 1993. Then again, that’s six of one and half a dozen of another: the fonts by SoftMaker and B & P Graphics have the same origin and are identical in their basic design.
The comparison below shows, from top to bottom, the Apartamento logo, a resetting in Clerface Bold (with slightly reduced tracking), and ITC Clearface Heavy (stretched horizontally to 127%, with drastically reduced tracking – that’s about as close as one can get with ITC’s version).
I’ve adjusted the typeface credits.
