After over a year as a digital-only publication, Newsweek returned to print in March 2014 with a new design by Priest + Grace and a return to a slab serif logo, combining elements of the many logos from the magazine’s past.

I welcome the slabby nameplate, but I wish they had consulted Jim Parkinson for the lettering, which feels a tad clumsy here. I also find the issue date tab to be unnecessary — the red box has enough heritage to say Newsweek on its own.

Cover lines are set in either FF Clan or Benton Sans.
