This is a souvenir of a summer spent studying in England. In those days, you got a 24-page, 7″×11″ program (or ‘programme’) and a poster when you went to a play, at least in Stratford.

Grid-based design with sans serif type throughout, Helvetica for display and Univers for text — except for some badly-spaced hand-set foundry type in the last slide. Why?

Three people are credited on the back cover of the booklet. John Goodwin is also listed in the RSC roster as Head of Publicity and Publications, and George Mayhew as an Adviser in Graphic Design. ACH Smith has no listing with the company; maybe he worked for the printer, the Herald Press of Stratford.
