Unlike Home and Away, which has never severed its relationship with the Reporter face, Corrie’s title cards have gone through a handful of faces over its still-solid run. As evidenced by a combo of the text shadow and clear non-grainy appearance of the title sequence, this card dates at least (meaning at its earliest) to the mid-1970s.

  1. This is completely incorrect. The above title cards is from 1997! The 1970's cards were much more dated. It is always designed to be in keeping with the origins of the street (set on a street built around 1910). Hence it not being “fashionable”. If you don’t believe me just check out full episodes on 'you tube’ and you’ll see.
  2. “At least.” Meaning, at its absolute earliest.  1997 qualifies as being later than the mid-1970s.

  3. If you’ve got any other title cards, we’d love to see them. Hint: this is what happened on the Home and Away page, and I didn’t have to ask for a thing.
