DSType is an independent type foundry, founded in 1994 by portuguese type designer Dino dos Santos. At DSType Foundry we have the opportunity to work with some of the world’s most recognised companies, brands and publications, while creating an extensive and comprehensive catalogue of high quality typefaces for all purposes. DSType is an independent type foundry, founded in 1994 by portuguese type designer Dino dos Santos. At DSType Foundry we have the opportunity to work with some of the world’s most recognised companies, brands and publications, while creating an extensive and comprehensive catalogue of high quality typefaces for all purposes. DSType work was awarded with the Certificate of Excellence in Type Design by the Type Directors Club of New York with the font Ventura (2008); the Creative Review Type Design Awards for the best revival with Andrade (2005); the Bienal Ibero-Americana de Diseño award with the type family Prumo (2012) and two Communication Arts Award of Excellence for the revival of Torio (2014) and Oposta (2016). Our work has been featured in several international magazines, including Eye (uk), Graphic (cn), Computer Arts (usa), Creative Review (uk), Page (de), Publish (de), Slanted (de), Tupigrafia (br) and in many specialised books like Type Navigator, TDC Annual 29, Brush ‘n’ Script, Carácter Latino, Tipografia, 1000 Fonts, Creative Characters, Typographic Design, 365 Type, Type Compass and Fraktur mon Amour. DSType’s work was selected for the Schrift in Form exhibition at the Klingspor Museum, in Offenbach, Germany and the type design exhibition Type for the New Century in the UK, among many others all over the world.
