Gauthier Roussilhe’s personal website was designed by me, Timothée Goguely, and developed together with Pikselkraft.

Gauthier Roussilhe is a French researcher specialised in the environmental footprint of digitalisation. This website is the space he use to share his blog articles, resources and studies.

All the website is designed using a 1.5 type scale and a combination of Arial and Immortel Infra G2, designed by Clément Le Tulle-Neyret and published by 205TF. Arial us used for navigation, subtitles, introduction texts, table of contents, captions and interface elements, and Immortel Infra G2 for all display titles, body texts and footnotes, using only Roman and Italic styles.

Signals In My Head is DJ Manny’s debut for Planet Mu, an electronic music label based in Hove, UK. The black and white album art features the release title composed in BBWW (Boogy Brut Wild Black). This display typeface was designed by French calligrapher and type designer Julien Priez aka Boogy Paper, in collaboration with Bureau Brut: a small graphic design studio and type foundry based in Toulouse, France. From the typeface information on their website:

The “Wild” versions are designed like initials: far from the traditional “quest for legibility”, they tread the boundaries between graphic design and pure art.

The jerky rhythm and the bold expressiveness of Boogy Brut Wild Black curves matches perfectly with DJ Manny footwork sound and atmosphere. On Bandcamp Daily, July 27 2021, Miles Bowe reviews Signals in my Head:

Footwork is defined by movement. That movement is often captured in dizzying rhythms and dance battles, but what’s just as important to the Chicago genre is its constant evolution. […]

Manny has long favored smoky, subdued sounds, but he goes further on Signals In My Head, rewiring footwork as something intensely intimate, even romantic. […] Flowing alongside the footwork highlights are stylistic curveballs, like the breakbeat-heavy title track, house banger “Club GTA,” and the DJ Phil collab “Havin’ Fun,” which flings zany vocal samples and a vertigo-inducing sub bass.

Laurel Parker Book is a workshop that designs and makes custom books, presentation portfolios, and conservation boxes for artists, photographers, luxury goods houses, agencies, publishers, and public institutions. Since 2008, they have collaborated with artists, publishers, institutions, and luxury houses. Their work is artisanal and entirely handmade in their workshop in greater Paris.

Their website, designed and developed by me, Timothée Goguely, is inspired by the Van de Graaf canon of book page construction, as it appears in Jan Tschichold’s The Form of the Book. The layout is build on a fixed 9×9 grid which adapts to different screen sizes.

The only typeface used is Mint Grotesk from the Belgian foundry Love Letters. It is a typeface that is both rigorous and cheerful, contemporary and rooted in history. Off-white in the background and a range of slightly bluish dark grays for the texts softens the contrast and provides reading comfort, while recalling the world of paper that is dear to the studio.

GIF to annonce the publication of their new website on social networks.

The Shelf Company is an art direction and publishing design studio based in Paris, founded in 2011 by Colin Caradec & Morgane Rébulard. They publish the annual magazine The Shelf Journal.

The Shelf Journal is a French-English annual review about the art of books and their design, that gives the voice to book makers and writers specialized in that field.

For their new website and visual identity, they decided to use just one typeface: Franklin Gothic URW Regular, available via Adobe Fonts, set in only two sizes (40px for headings and 20px for texts).

Antoine Omerin is a photographer and film maker based in Paris, France. His portfolio website is set in Arial Regular and ISO Light, a typeface designed by Scribble Tone and available via Future Fonts. Headlines use Arial Regular.

ISO was originally designed for our project exif.co, an image embedding service. It was inspired by old cameras, specifically Leicas and Nikons, which have really warm, slightly goofy, and tactile engraved text all over.

Initially released as a single Regular weight typeface, ISO got a Bold in 2018 and was expanded to five weights from Thin to Black in February 2019.

Album cover set in Trickster for the dungeon synth EP Tome of the Crystal Wizard by the band Iagon, released on Castle Wall Records ‎and Ancient Meadow in October 2018.

Logo and title design for the experimental future folk band Mount Automne, using the open-source font Trickster designed by Jean-Baptiste Morizot and published by Velvetyne in 2017.

Design Summit 2018 is a three-day conference organized by Adobe. The event in San Francisco is “largest-ever gathering of designers from throughout the company, along with our key business partners and stakeholders. […] This year’s theme is Perspective.”

The typography pairs Bely Display (Roxane Gataud) and FF Basic Gothic (Hannes von Döhren, Livius Dietzel).
