Jitka was born in 1989 in the Czech Republic. She holds a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Arts at OSU Ostrava (CZ) and a master's degree in Visual Communication from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (SK). In 2016, she completed the prestigious Type and Media master’s program at the Royal Academy of Art (KABK) in The Hague (NL).
Her graduation project, Rododendron—published under the name Heavy—was awarded the Silver Prize at the Morisawa Type Design Competition in 2016.
Jitka is currently based in Brno (CZ), where she works as a freelance graphic and type designer. Her latest typefaces are available through her independent type foundry, Obrysy.xyz.
