Infographic on the Tokamak, the magnetic confinement device designed to produce energy by nuclear fusion. In addition to the design of the infographic, Emphase also took care of the vulgarization work with the help of Emmanuel Lanti, PhD in numerical and theoretical physics.

The font in use is Diglû, including new customized icons.

The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, EPFL) is a public research university specializing in natural sciences and engineering. For its visual identity, the EFPL uses Diglû, a typeface family by Emphase that includes numerous pictograms. Both typeface and icons are applied in a wide range of communication materials, including the Dimensions magazine as well as notebooks, bottles and other merchandise. Diglû and its icons are paired with three subfamilies from the Suisse collection by Swiss Typefaces: Suisse Int’l, Suisse Works and Suisse Screen.

EPFL Mediacom, the department that developed the EFPL identity, asked Emphase to create over fifty personalized pictograms/icons. As needs arise, the collection of pictograms expands, allowing Diglû to keep evolving. There are pictograms that are very specific to EPFL, such as certain emblematic buildings or pictograms linked to specific fields of research, as well as more general icons linked to transportation or meals.

Conception and design of the stamp issued by the Swiss Post on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of insulin.

Since 1921, the diagnosis of type 1 diabetes no longer means a death sentence. The reason for this is the invention of insulin. This groundbreaking discovery is on a par with the antibiotic. The three-dimensional model visualized on the stamp shows the tertiary structure of an insulin molecule and at the same time resembles a garland. Because: there is something to celebrate. Happy Birthday Insulin.

For the typography, we used our own Diglû, a font with pictograms.

With 76 leadership models – some of them newly developed, some of them revised – the handbook summarises the most important models for reflecting and organising oneself, understanding and supporting others, leading teams and understanding and developing organisations.

Graphically reduced, enriched with pictograms, the models are intended to serve as a working tool not only in the context of teaching at the Business School of the Bern University of Applied Sciences. The book is also intended to provide food for thought in companies and organisations on strategic management, personnel leadership or process management.

Small statistics and illustrations visualize the connection between Switzerland and Great Britain from an economic point of view, in a brochure made for the Swiss embassy in the UK. Facts and figures from the four subjects: commerce, science and innovation, finance and tourism point to the relationships, deepenning ties and increasing prosperity.

The Medium weight of Diglû by Emphase is used for all typography. While a large collection of icons is embedded within the typeface, the illustrations and icons used in this brochure are custom made.
