Mariel is a graphic designer and type designer based in
Brussels. From books to typefaces, they enjoy seeing letters as
forms of life and experiments on the edge of legibility to observe
sensations, tones and emotions. They are very interested in working
in groups and run workshops in a variety of contexts. What
interests them is the place where they can link up with other
visions to give birth to images and forms, through an exchange or a
commission. Since 2022 they has been part of Velvetyne, a collective that publishes
and organises workshops on Libre typefaces. They also works with
the Bye Bye Binary
collective on post-binary typographic questions.
