Jorge Alberto Martínez was born in Mexico City, Mexico. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design in 2009 from the Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Tamaulipas. Subsequently, in 2016, he graduated with a Master’s degree in Typeface Design from the Centro de Estudios Gestalt.
His experience as a designer includes contributions to the design of typefaces for companies such as PepsiCo, Bitso, OCC, and Grupo Truper. In parallel, he has lectured in undergraduate courses at various universities across Mexico.
He is the co-owner of the design studio Etymos, where he develops retail typefaces, some of which are distributed by the foundry LatinoType.
