Posters to give a fresh look for the semester closing exhibition of the first-year architecture students at BME. “Épalap” is the nickname of the course Basics of Architecture, while “Kipak” means the show itself, but the word is close to ”unboxing”. I’ve used a slightly modified version of Anthony, to reach a lowtech, tape type feeling, combined with Inter for the small text. Client: studio András Weiszkopf

FR Kraken Slab in use on the panels of an exhibition installation designed by Dóra Máthé. The exhibition presents the candidates for the redesign of the Hungarian Museum of Transport – an international competition which was won by Diller Scofidio + Renfro.

Poster for an open lecture by Quintus Miller, Professor of Architecture (at Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio) and Architect. In the lecture, held at the BME Department of Residential Building Design, Miller talked about his architectural education and his works.

The theme of the yearbook 2019 of the Doctoral School of Architecture at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME DLA) is glocal, which means as much as “reflecting or characterized by both local and global consideration”.

All essays and shorter articles of Glokális építészet (Glocal Architecture in English) are focusing on the topic of glocal architecture (i.e., intercultural architecture, local adaptations of international challenges). The book tries to catch this contradictory term by visual tools. Colors and typography aim to represent both mechanical and organic, both artificial and natural, at the same time, while the layout continues the arrangement of the previous issues, however slightly redesigned.

Edited by Levente Szabó, the publication was art directed and designed by Dóra Máthé, combining Pilowlava for titles with Vesper for text and Avenir for the table of contents, headings, marginal notes, running titles, page numbers. etc. The softcover book with section sewn binding was offset-printed in two colors (black, Pantone 584U blue) plus UV varnish, on Munken Lynx 100gsm and 300gsm by Elektroproduct Kft. Published by BME Doctoral School of Architecture in a limited edition of 300 copies, manually numbered on the last page.
