The Netflix series Nobody Wants This—starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody—centers on the unlikely romance between an outspoken podcast host and an unconventional rabbi. Since its first season, the show has featured Bookmania from Mark Simonson Studio as its logo typeface. A web search shows the font in use across title cards, posters, social channels, crossover banners, promotional materials, press events, and interviews.

Bookmania takes the familiar warmth of classic Bookman serifs and gives it a crisp, contemporary edge—fitting for a series that blends sincerity with humor. As the show heads into Season 2, the continued use of Bookmania keeps its visual voice cohesive: smart, contemporary, and charmingly offbeat.

Outer Banks is American Netflix Original show that premiered on April 15, 2020. The story follows John B and his friends try to find long lost treasure and his missing father.

Korataki was used for the logo of the show and the credits. This font was also used for all of the promotional material.

At the end of Season 2 Episode 2 of Netflix’s Is it Cake?, a contestant must distinguish between a cash-filled protein supplement container and – you guessed it – a cake.

Both the protein supplement container and the tasty imposter feature a label typeset in Bungee, mostly the Regular style with a bit of the Outline style in the background. The label appears to be inspired by GNC’s Pro Performance series.

To reveal whether the contestant has correctly identified the cake, host Mikey Day wields a large knife and slices into the typographic frosting.

The numbers on the stands are set in Helvetica, as is the denomination on the real and fake $100 bills.

Beef (2023) is an American comedy drama miniseries created by Lee Sung Jin for Netflix. It stars Steven Yeun and Ali Wong as two people whose involvement in a road rage incident begins to consume their lives. Appearing in supporting roles are Joseph Lee, Young Mazino, David Choe, and Patti Yasutake.

Beef features Balboa in opening and end credits, and over original artwork from artist and actor David Choe, who plays the character Isaac Cho in the series.

The quick brushstrokes of Cortado provide a fitting aesthetic for Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed, a Netflix documentary about the beloved painter and TV host, and the legal battles between his son and business partners after his death.

The promotional images use Cortado’s ss ligature but not its contextual alternates feature. In the film’s title sequence, the ligature is not active, and the subtitle is tracked out, creating unfortunate gaps and crashes between the letterforms.

The Perfection is a 2018 American psychological horror thriller film directed by Richard Shepard, from a screenplay by Shepard, Nicole Snyder and Eric C. Charmelo. It stars Allison Williams, Logan Browning, and Steven Weber.

It had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 20, 2018. It was released on May 24, 2019, by Netflix.

The Serpent is a TV mini series co-produced by Netflix and BBC One. Launched in April 2021, it tells “the twisting, real-life story of Charles Sobhraj, a murderer, thief and seductive master of disguise, who was a hidden darkness in the mid-70s on Asia’s hippie trail.” – IMDb

BBC One uses Curve Extra Bold (Fontador) for promotional graphics and the trailer, in all caps. The title is shown with enlarged first and last letters. The series logo used by Netflix is based on Shenzhen Industrial (Device), with an S that was modified to look more snake-like.

The new Nexflix mini-series by Ryan Murphy (also known for The Politician) celebrates the life of American fashion designer Roy Halston Frowick. The title sequences and closing credits make use of Eurostile Extended, just like the original Halston brand logo.

The White Tiger is a 2021 drama film directed by Ramin Bahrani starring Adarsh Gourav in his first leading role, along with Priyanka Chopra and Rajkummar Rao. An adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s 2008 novel of the same name, the story is about Balram, who comes from a poor Indian village and uses his wit and cunning to escape from poverty.

Chikki was used for the Hindi teaser. Sweet and savory, Chikki is a crunchy Devanagari, Gurmukhi, and extended Latin type family available in six weights. While Chikki is primarily a display design, the letterforms and spacing have been clearly refined and optimized to work also at small sizes and to be clear for reading longer amounts of text.

Mexico City Invitational is the central setting for “Middle Game”, the fourth episode of the miniseries The Queen’s Gambit. It’s at this (fictional) chess tournament that Beth Harmon faces her opponent, Soviet world champion Vasily Borgov a.k.a. “The Russian”.

The visual identity of the event is based on ITC Avant Garde Gothic, which can be seen in use for a wall display at the hotel venue, as well as for the tournament poster and game charts. “Mexico” is set with its hallmark alternate M and a dotted i in all caps. The geometric sans serif by Herb Lubalin and Tom Carnase was immensely popular in the 1970s, and the props convincingly look like what one would expect to see at an international event in that decade. For typophiles, the fly in the ointment is the fact that the Mexico City Invitational is supposed to take place in 1966 – four years before Avant Garde Gothic was released (and still two years before the logo for Avant Garde magazine – on which the typeface was based – had its debut).

The Queen's Gambit is a limited series from Netflix, based on the novel by Walter Tevis from 1983, and directed by Scott Frank, 2020.

The title treatment used to promote the show is set in all-caps Plantin (Monotype). It has some customization to the Q: It’s likely an uppercase O with a custom, vertical tail appended. The apostrophe has also been replaced with a superscript dot/period glyph. Additionally, the supplementary text, “A Netflix Limited Series,” is set in Bookman (Bitstream), widely tracked out and in all-caps.

The main titles featured in the show are set in Prohibition by Fort Foundry. The various credits throughout the title sequence use Prohibition placed in black or white bars for contrast against undulating, geometric patterns.

Daft Brush is the font used in posters and credits for seasons 1, 2 and 3 of the television series Atypical, produced for Netflix by Sony Pictures Television (2017–2019).

Designed by Erica Jung and Ricardo Marcin of PintassilgoPrints, Daft Brush comes in two styles, both of which have been used here. The original all-caps cut has four alternates for each letter. Its OpenType Contextual Alternates feature is programmed to cycle through them in order to achieve an organic feel. Daft Brush Text has a single set of uppercase glyphs, but adds a lowercase for greater flexibility.
