The fourth issue of The Light Observer is dedicated to prospective thinkers and artists opening our eyes to a possible future. Scientists using powerful lasers to bring atoms into a liquid state, artists questioning the future of technologies or proposing new ways of experiencing colours. Solid light? A whole movie encapsulated in one immaculate screen? This issue questions our ways of seeing things and our representation of the world we live in.

The design uses Neue Haas Unica in two different sizes and Traulha for titles. The text and the visuals are distinct but interact with each other with a grid designed for legibility and to highlight the visual material. The paper stock is from Fedrigoni, a recycled paper with a pleasant and natural grain, and glossy paper sections for artistic collaborations, with the German artist Judith Grassl and the Italian photographer Irene Fenara.
