Pomme d’Api is a French monthly children’s magazine edited by Bayard Éditions, known for its illustrated stories, games, and iconic characters like Petit Ours Brun.

The typeface Borel Display was used throughout the main story “Agata détective : enquête au manoir” to give the narrative lettering a lively, handwritten feel suited to the magazine’s target age range of 3–7 years old.

Additional typefaces used by the magazine and shown in the images include Uniform Rounded, Futura, and Mr Dodo.

Astrapi is a French biweekly magazine for children aged 7–11, published by Bayard Éditions. Borel was used for these scientific illustrations in Astrapi № 1019, September 2023.

Chair de Poule is the French version of Scholastic’s Goosebumps series, the bestselling horror novels written by R.L. Stine. Published in French by Bayard Éditions, the collection is a huge success with over 12 million books sold in France since the launch of the first copies in the early 1990s.

Balter Serif is used for the book titles. Horror Show Bold serves for the word “Frisson” (“thrill”) in the collection’s name. “Chair de Poule” is probably custom lettering.

Mes cartes mentales pour comprendre l’histoire de France en un coup d’oeil is a book for kids from age nine, published by Bayard Éditions in France. It was written by Elisabeth de Lambilly, with illustrations by Gabrielle Berger and Béatrice Veillon. From the publisher (translated):

Bangel Black Rounded is used for the title.

French version of the Knight Sir Louis book series from the Brothers McLeod, published by Bayard Éditions. The logo uses Balter Serif and the title is set with FF Child’s Play Age Ten.

Balter Serif is also used for the chapter titles, with Adobe Garamond for text.

Rose Asphalte is a book series for kids published by Bayard Editions in France. The first volume, La colo des zombis, was written by Anne Schmauch and illustrated by Raphaël Chabassol, better known as Mokë.

Bangel Black Rounded is used for the logo title, and Bangel Black for the chapter titles. The book title is set with Jazzy Croquette. This font is used inside, too, together with Times New Roman. On the back cover, it’s seen with Brandon Grotesque.
