Present Space introduces “BODY”, its fourth print issue, published and designed by AMILE. With creative direction from Present Space’s Juan Duque and Nima Habibzadeh, “BODY” is an exploration of the physical structure, both internally and externally. The issue investigates the many forms of the body; humans, animals, and nature through editorials and essays to further understand its complexities.

For print four, Present Space showcases thirty stories across art, design, photography and fashion. “BODY” celebrates the global reach of artists whose roots stem far beyond cities including Paris, Los Angeles, and London.

“BODY” showcases the work and ideas of today’s biggest talent, including Doja Cat by Daniel Shea and in conversation with Jack Harlow. Present Space also celebrates the model in fashion through a series of exclusive editorials shot in New York, including Irina Shayk by Davit Giorgadze, Imaan Hammam by Louise & Maria Thornfeldt and Paloma Elsesser for Tiffany & Co. by Brianna Capozzi. How the body is used by the fashion industry is discussed in conversation with model, author and activist Cameron Russell, shot by Diego Vourakis. Bastian Achard visits Fundació Joan Miró in Mallorca, designed by Josep Lluis Sert in the early 1950s, where much of the artist’s vast body of work remains to this day. For “BODY”, Present Space explores issues facing different communities around the world through a series of long-form articles including The Three Borders, on migration into the United States written by Luis Alvarez, with an accompanying photo essay by Manuel Bayo Gisbert, and Interconnected, written by Michele Fossi, examining the impact of the changing climate on different ecosystems, photographed by Emily Rosser.

Present Space introduces “HOME”, its third print issue, published by AMILE and designed by Querida. With creative direction from Present Space’s Nima Habibzadeh and Juan Duque, “HOME” is an exploration of identity and culture, as expressed by artists working in different cities globally.

For print three, Present Space showcases twenty-one stories across art, design, photography and fashion. “HOME” celebrates the global reach of artists whose roots stem far beyond cities including Paris, Los Angeles, and London.

“HOME” goes behind the doors of artists’ home and work spaces to see how they use their environment as a source of inspiration and space of creativity. These stories inform this print issue, as Present Space visits the home studio of Pedro Reyes in Mexico City and Claudia Andujar’s high-rise apartment in Sao Paulo, and captures the story of Carlota Guerrero’s move from the Barcelona studio where much of her work has been created to date. From the Serpentine in London, Hans Ulrich Obrist shares his own handwritten note and his thoughts on home. “HOME” features a painted sunrise for an exclusive cover by New York-based artist Sho Shibuya and an editorial with Binx Walton shot by Zoe Ghertner for Wales Bonner in Los Angeles.

Diego Vourakis presents his debut photobook, De Cara Al Sol, a collection of images and reflections on Cuba. The origin of this book stems from his desire to have a deeper understanding of the culture, the island and its communities. Diego depicts the people he met over a series of trips between February 2020 and April 2023.

Made as a five-part book, Diego captures the optimistic pride of Cuban life. Where love, community and family form the strongest of ties. He brings their stories to our shores so that it may inspire change and a conversation about what it means to live intentionally.

Published and designed by AMILE in collaboration with New York based creative agency WØRKS, as a linen bound book, De Cara Al Sol will be launched in Los Angeles in December 2023.

Go-See: Mexico City captures the essence of the movement of the city and the faces that inhibit it. The typography is inspired by the timeless and ever-growing metropolis.
