The TT Norms Pro is a part of the Jacques Offenbach Jahr 2019 identity, paired with Benguiat Caslon a.k.a. PLINC Caslon.

The year 2019 is a significant milestone for Cologne as it marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the renowned composer Jacques Offenbach. Our primary goal is to introduce the people of Cologne to the legacy of Offenbach through a diverse program of events throughout the year.

The festival style of the Year of Jacques Offenbach is a unique blend of tradition and modernity, visually represented by a contemporary interpretation of the Cancan dance. The vibrant and dynamic nature of the Cancan skirts, with their colorful camouflage principle, symbolizes the journey of discovery into the world of Offenbach. Yes, we can, we can!

A website dedicated to the year of Jacques Offenbach was also developed as part of the Formdusche festival's corporate identity development. The site's journal-like structure allows for editorial weight to be given to the content, and an overview of daily events can be accessed at any time via a calendar icon. A map view, which can be switched to at the same time, offers alternative access to events and an intuitive user guide to the participation format.

TT Firs Neue is the signature typeface of Theater Lübeck, one of the largest theaters in the German federal state of Schleswig-Holstein.

The theater offers all kinds of cultural events, including opera, ballet, chamber music and plays, as well as concerts by the Lübeck Philharmonic Orchestra.

Since 2021, Berlin-based studio formdusche is responsible for the visual identity and introduced TT Firs Neue. The sans by TypeType is supported by Pangram Pangram’s serif Cirka. The items shown in this post are from the seasons 2022/23 (red and black) and 2023/24 (turquoise and black).

ED Awards:

Frans Haacken (1911–1979) was an overlooked collaborator of Bertolt Brecht, an accomplished illustrator and author as well as a creator of animated cartoons. After three years of research this book not only tells his life on both sides of the Iron Curtain and monographically paints a portrait of his artistic legacy but also arduously compiles his surviving oeuvre.
