It has no editorial staff but is compiled, written, designed, illustrated and published by ‘Director’ P. Schreuders (Piet Schreuders, also known for Furore magazine).

“You never know when it will come out or what it looks like” is a common complaint; after all, the shape and size of the ‘newspaper’ (book? glossy? flyer? tabloid?) are different every time. Still, De Poezenkrant has a large crowd of admirers and a healthy base of loyal subscribers through thick and thin.

Issue 63 features an early use of the digitised version of Alarm for titling. Many Poezenkrant editions seem to refer to other existing publications by design and #63 is no exception, obviously nodding to The Guardian and their recent redesign. Most text is set in Guardian Egyptian Headline and Guardian Egyptian Text. The sans used for information on the cover is yet unidentified. [edit: It’s Retina, see comments.]

License: All Rights Reserved.

License: All Rights Reserved.

License: All Rights Reserved.

Source: caroliennaaktgeborenbos.nl License: All Rights Reserved.

Source: twitter.com License: All Rights Reserved.

This post was originally published at Fonts In Use
