Program and poster proposal designed to promote A natural history of power (Una història natural del poder), a cycle of selected screenings of films by Adam Curtis, a British documentary maker and writer focused on social issues and politics. Shown in November and December 2018 at Xcèntric, the cinema of the CCCB.

Desvío is a photobook designed for photographer Pep Escoda by Barcelona-based studio DOMO–A. This is an artistic book about the “diversion” made in Tarragona which has caused the cutting of natural paths and the separation of urban centres.

This post shows the poster series that was made as part of the promotion of the book.

Hotel Alma Barcelona is a luxury hotel in the heart of Barcelona’s Eixample district. Its Mediterranean garden is a source of tranquility, light and greenery in the purest sense. The minimalist interiors, with spacious rooms and black walls, express restraint and elegance.

To promote the different activities, DOMO–A designed a layout with which the hotel projects the identity in its events.

Barcelona based studio DOMO–A designed a publication (see this post) which makes different lectures from Museu Picasso’s “Master Conferences Jaume Sabartés” available to everyone. In order to explain to the client how typographic hierarchy works, a poster was designed as a guide.

This publication, designed by Barcelona based studio DOMO–A, makes available to everyone the access and download of different lectures about Picasso. The international conferences are held annually by the Museu Picasso and carry the title “Master Conferences Jaume Sabartés”. It can be downloaded in pdf format for you to print and bind it, so you can create your own ‘book’. It’s also available in epub format for reading on your tablet or ebook.

It was a matter of making a simple binding, made with common materials for an attractive result. The most important thing about the binding was to group all the conferences and at the same time keep them separated from each other, hence we used pins.

Because many references to pictures of Picasso were made, it was necessary that as you read the text you could have the visual reference as close as possible. Since the works are great protagonists we decided to give them their own section in which we can see them on bigger size with data as the title, the year, the technique…
