Founded in 1960 in Wilmington, Massachusetts. In 1988 the company was wholly acquired by Agfa-Gaevert (at the time a division of Bayer), which had held a majority stake since 1982 [Agfa] [Wikipedia], and rebranded as Agfa. Sometimes also listed as Agfa Compugraphic. In 1999, Agfa acquired Monotype Typography and rebranded as Agfa Monotype (see Monotype) [Simonson]. Some fonts from the library have a CG (Compugraphic) or AT (AgfaType) prefix.
