Every year, Biergarten Brewery & Kitchen celebrates the Karnataka Food Festival – a tribute to a state that’s a mosaic of accents, kitchens, playlists, and Friday-night pints. This year’s identity draws from the warmth of the Kowdhi quilt of North Karnataka; square patchworks of reused fabrics stitched into rhythmic geometry, paired with colours inspired by vibrant risograph inks and traditional quilts.

Tiny square illustrations echo Kowdhi’s pattern and pair seamlessly with Bungee, Biergarten’s primary typeface with its bold, structured form. Anek Kannada brings the regional script and language into the system, adding warmth through its semi-rounded forms and generous curves while maintaining clarity at every scale. The stacking of Bungee with Anek Kannada mirrors the layered patchwork of the quilts. P22 Underground anchors the typography with a clean, highly legible foundation for body copy and functional text.

Every year, Biergarten Brewery & Kitchen celebrates the Karnataka Food Festival by incorporating ingredients rooted in Kannada food culture. For 2024, a trip to Mysore led us to Rajamudi, a red rice once favoured by royalty, which became the inspiration for crafting a special Mysore Lager for the festival. The visual language draws from Mysore’s royal heritage, blending the vibrancy of palace interiors, vintage Kannada film posters, and old postal stamps into a lively colour palette that echoes both royal splendour and the state flag.

Expressing this cultural blend, we used Bungee, the brand’s primary display typeface, and anchored this in local context with Anek Kannada, for its semi-rounded, contemporary interpretation of the Kannada script. The softness and rhythmic curves of Anek Kannada offer a striking balance to Bungee’s rigid, modular forms, creating a dynamic typographic interplay across headlines, labels, and motion assets. P22 Underground is used as the supporting typeface, providing clean, legible structure for body copy and functional text.

The videography extends this typographic and visual sensibility into motion. Inspired by 1980s Sandalwood cinema, it features bold, stacked type treatments set against scenes from Mysore’s royalty.

Pick&Mix approached us to help with their next phase of growth by creating a new bag design for their brand to establish them as the market leader in this category.

We created a completely unique bag for the brand, featuring a split colour block in their brand colours to create a bold and impactful visual that looked good both on screen, on social media, and in the hands of their customers.

We gave their back of pack the same treatment by creating a nice hierarchy that was not only easy to read and consume, but also visually appealing to help grow the brand's customer retention rate.

Bailimo Rounded was chosen as the secondary font for Uauu Tours. The primary typeface used by the travel agency from Mozambique is Baloo Latin.

Bailimo Rounded was designed to be used in social media posts. Its charm in each letter makes it unique and perfect for calls to action.

Accelerated Money For U (AMU) is an NBFC specialising in EV financing and leasing. The aim of their branding refresh was to have the brand logo and identity reflect their work at the frontier of modernity. At the same time, as a long-standing organisation, they had to retain their essence for recall from past customers and clients.

Studio Ping Pong partnered with them and centred the brand on their three primary tenets. The logo was text logo was updated and a symbol was attached to the brand. The new brand symbol forms an A with three intersecting ovals representing sustainability, finance, and technology.

Similarly, the colours and type echo these tenets. Teal blue and white were chosen as the primary brand colours. These are used in most of AMU’s collaterals. Orange and green as secondary colours break the monotony where needed.

The brand identity is formed around intersecting discs and lines, to signify movement and as a call back to the logo symbol. Stroked discs, matching the logo stroke weight were used as containers, bases and dividers within the branding.

The brand relies on two typefaces: Komet for titles and headings and Arpona Sans for body copy. With the company dealing in vernacular as well, Anek (all scripts, Regular, Medium, Bold) was chosen for any vernacular language use. As an NBFC, the script could not have too much flair – these typefaces were thus chosen for their readability and straightforwardness

This was a corporate branding project where conveying dependability and legitimacy were of utmost importance. The branding aimed to balance elements of modernity (ovals, lines, secondary colours) with classics of the sector (primary colours, typeface) to create a brand that stood for innovation without compromising trust.

The identity and its principles were then translated to a website, developed by ThunderClap.

Mukta is used for the Covid pandemic campaign across the state of Maharashtra as well as for the infographics by the Prime Minister’s Office in Hindi language.

Sama Devanagari in use for Lokmat, one of the largest read regional language newspapers in India with more than 18 million readers, and the No. 1 Marathi newspaper in Maharashtra and Goa states. (IRS 2017)

Sama, meaning ‘ambience’ in Urdu, is a soft, unassuming font family from Ek Type. Sama Devanagari has been drawn by Divya Kowshik and Noopur Datye.

Full’r is burger brand in Sri Lanka, offering a 100% Sri Lankan handcrafted burgers.

Ek Type’s Baloo Latin 2 is used by Landor & Fitch for the brand design including packaging and advertising.

Trolley Times is a four-page biweekly newspaper in Punjabi and Hindi. Very nice use of Mukta (Devanagari) and Mukta Mahee (Gurmukhi) with Mukta Latin for this bilingual (and multiscript) newsletter from India. Wikipedia mentions:

It was founded on December 18, 2020 to represent farmers at the Delhi-Haryana border protesting in response to alleged attempts by mainstream media to malign and misrepresent the 2020–2021 Indian farmers' protest.

The numbers of later editions are set in Savoye. The small bits in English mostly use Mukta and Monotype Baskerville.

Barista is a chain of espresso bars and cafes that operates in the Indian subcontinent. They use Baloo Latin as their primary brand typeface, alongside Knockout for the logo. Baloo is paired with various sans serifs across the identity, from the website to the packaging designs.

On the website, Baloo is paired with Mukta Latin, another typeface by Ek Type.

Wonderbox: The Adventure Maker is an action/adventure game developed by Aquiris Studio for Apple Arcade. The game is set in beautiful dioramas where you can have all sorts of adventure, from platforming to map-exploring and combat. As the name suggests, the game’s most distinct feature is the ability to build and share your own levels, with a highly intuitive tool set.

With big-eyed-big-headed characters, bright colours and rounded corners even in its swords, Wonderbox has a very soft and friendly looking atmosphere.

The game's typography follows a similar path, mixing different flavours of sans with round edges: the game logo uses Graúna, which is also used for marketing material; in-game titles and buttons us Baloo Latin. The UI uses Nunito throughout, with its straight-legged lowercase l (one of Nunito’s two stylistic sets) activated.
