Est. by Friedrich W. Bauer and Karl Rupprecht in Stuttgart in 1880. A branch in Düsseldorf was founded in 1892. Acquired by Berthold in 1897. [Bauer 1928] Not to be confused with the Bauer foundry in Frankfurt/Main.
