Successor to Eduard Haenel’s foundry which had been moved to Berlin in 1838. Former manager Karl Wilhelm Gronau (died 1887) acquired the business in 1864 [AfB v.1, n.1), and named Wilhelm Gronaus Buchdruckerei und Schriftgießerei. The printing office was split off in 1905.
