Ryans started as an Ibiza hotel chain, but now it is first and foremost a community. The website still includes a service for booking accommodations with a pool, but it now also has an event calendar with parties and workshops organised by the community members all over the world. You can join the community by filling in and submitting a form on their website and suggest your event by reaching out to the project’s email.

Design by Achos, who picked Druk Wide by Berton Hasebe as the primary typeface for the site, social media pages and merch. The supporting sans initially was MADType’s Quantico. As of February 2024, it has been replaced by Adam Ladd’s Config Condensed.

The logo of The Ryans Times uses Chomsky. The site additionally uses Apple Color Emoji in the ticker-style menu as well as various typefaces for the travel stickers. This includes Millionaire Script (“you”), Sister Spray (“Ibiza”), and Imperator (“Ryans”).

Big Data Pizza is a fictional company as seen in the 2014 videogame Good Pizza, Great Pizza. This particular company can only be seen in the Chapter 4 of the game.

Big Data Pizza is a chain of pizzerias founded and run by antagonist Angelica Bechamel, and is one of the sponsors of another fictional company, the Pizza News Network.

The logo uses Rajdhani in capital letters.

The header of the website is set in a bold italic version of Quantico, while the subtext uses Georama, to emphasize the vibe of a pizza company with modern technology in mind. The top header of the site and some certain text uses Georama.

On certain occassions, smaller text also uses Sarpanch, meanwhile the Menus page only has one instance of use for Racing Sans.

This is a printed flyer used to promote a rave event named Playhouse, which took place on February 2nd, 1999. It was presented by Nomad Interactive Productions, apparently somewhere in the Bay Area, California, see also this other flyer.

“Playhouse” is set with Megahertz Out Italic (T-26, 1997), while the date is set in Shifty Italic (MADType, 1998).

David Fincher and Neil Kellerhouse continue their working relationship that in the past saw designs for The Social Network, Gone Girl, and Mindhunter. The main poster is based around a painting by Anna Park. Kellerhouse chose Pacioli for a great degree of Mank’s promotional campaign. The most unexpected use I saw was in the title design for the film, where Pacioli gets a 3-D rendering. The Mank wordmark is probably custom lettering. Reporter is vaguely related.

The approval card is set in caps from Kabel (1927).

The script used in the teaser is Mr Stalwart. This font is based on one of the script alphabets created in the 1930s by Brooklyn-based calligrapher Charles Percy Bluemlein.

In a particulary well designed website, the typeface duo Basis (MADType) and Basis Grotesque (Colophon) are assiociated with Inferi (Blaze Type). While Inferi is shown in a larger size in the website for the project descriptions, the Basis duo is meticulously displayed in the menu, headings, and video captions.

James Goggin and Shan James have provided design direction for the series (with an initial projected run of six volumes) as well as the design and typesetting of each volume. Each publication features a detailed, often deliberately enigmatic, pictorial crop on the cover, with titles and texts set exclusively in type designed by the American type designer, calligrapher, and book designer William Addison Dwiggins (1880–1956). Titles are derived from Dwiggins’s lettering for Paul Hollister’s American Alphabets (New York: Harper Brothers, 1930) [using Matthew Aaron Desmond’s digital font named Dwiggins Deco, see comments], while body text is set in Electra (1935–49), with headings and notes in Metro (1929–30).

Theatrical one-sheet artist Neil Kellerhouse has used Bourgeois by VirusFonts very often in the past several years. His most recent and visible use was for the title wordmark for Netflix TV series House of Cards. Kellerhouse used Condensed Bold and Condensed Book Italic variants for this particular promotional campaign. Certain posters use MADType's Pacioli's lowercase characters for listing of names and credits.

Bourgeios is also used on House Of Cards slot machines that can be seen at casinos across the USA!

Posted as part of a little survey about websites for conferences on typography and graphic design – how do these specialist events present themselves typographically, in 2013?

MoTyF is organized by and for students, under the supervision of Ewa Satalecka, the festival’s curator. Allow your browser to play animated GIFs, so that you can savor the changing modular logo. The header as well as the poster use Titillium. I wonder why they went with a very different typeface for the website. Cost couldn’t have been the issue: Titillium is freely available from Google just like Abel is.
