Founded 1836 in Marseille, France by Lazare Olive (?) [DeVinne Press]. Marcel Olive was the company’s president from 1938 and hired Roger Excoffon who later became artistic director in 1945 [Chamaret/Gineste/Morlighem 2010] [Loxley 2004].
