This was supposed to be the big breakthrough. The moment the world got hit with our no-bullshit, hard-hitting sound.

The visuals? All crafted by Kustomtype: we didn’t just design the graphics, we also created a custom font called Deaffont, made exclusively for this release. That’s how serious we were about making this EP a statement.

But then the world hit pause. Just after the launch, COVID-19 struck like a sucker punch. Festivals canceled. Bars closed. The whole damn country shut down. No gigs. No merch sales. The momentum we had? Gone overnight.

But here’s the thing about DEAFCON – we don’t quit. No virus, no lockdown is gonna keep us quiet for long. Nicci is more than just two songs. It’s a statement:

We’re here.
We’re loud.
And we’re not going anywhere.

Let’s face it – you can’t keep rock ’n’ roll down for long.

With four rock-solid tracks – “Mean Machine”, “Master of Disguise”, “180”, and “Life Is Strange” – this powerhouse release instantly put the band on the map, landing them gigs left and right.

The band’s badass logo, designed by Kustomtype using Bomber TV, became an iconic piece of their merch line. It’s one of those shirts you can’t miss – hit up any rock or metal festival, and you’ll spot fans proudly rocking their DEAFCON gear. Kinda funny when you think about it: a small Belgian band leaving their mark on the global rock scene, one T-shirt at a time.

This record? It’s loud, raw, and unapologetic. Just the way rock ’n’ roll should be.

Sounding like only you can. No boxes, no labels, no limits. That’s exactly what The Mars Model is all about. With their 2022 release, Primal Urge, they’re tearing through boundaries and delivering something raw, intense, and unapologetically their own.

The band – Dominiek De Gandt (guitar/vocals), Hans Verbeke (vocals), Tim Jult (drums), Olivier Moulin (synths), and Fred Dufourmont (bass) – pours their souls into six tracks of pure, unfiltered post-punk energy.

Forged between the rain-soaked streets of Kortrijk (Belgium) and the industrial pulse of Lille (France), this cross-border collaboration pulls from a legacy of punk rebellion, hardcore grit, and raw human emotion. Their debut EP, FrancoBelga, is a statement—loud, unapologetic, and drenched in both chaos and beauty.

Behind the scenes, Dominiek De Candt – a Belgian punk pioneer (remember The Definitivos?) – dreamed up The Mars Model as a concept. He roped in Kustomtype to craft the band’s identity before the lineup was even locked in. One thing was certain: Hans was their voice, even before he realized it himself.

And it didn’t stop there. To solidify the band’s visual identity, Kustomtype went one step further by designing an exclusive typeface for the band. The result? The Mars Model font: bold, gritty, and raw, just like the music itself. It’s not just a logo; it’s a statement in every letter, capturing the band’s ethos in a unique visual style that stands out in a crowded scene.
