merger of Toulouse Olympique XV and the Omnisport Aviation Club Toulousain. Since March<span class="nbsp">&nbsp;</span>6, 1990, the club from <span><span>the capital of France’s southern Occitanie region</span></span> is known under the name <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toulouse_Olympique_A%C3%A9rospatiale_Club">Toulouse Olympique Aérospatiale Club</a> (TOAC).</p>

<p>This membership card from 1945/1946, issued to Joseph Goulounes (1924–2001), features the club’s emblem with a winged dragon and a compass rose.</p>

<p>“Membre actif” is set in <strong><a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/39900/elegant-grotesk-licht" data-entity-code-id="39900" data-entity-code-type="TypeEntity">Elegant-Grotesk licht</a></strong>, an all-caps inline version of <a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/foundry/226/stempel" data-entity-code-id="226" data-entity-code-type="Foundry">Stempel</a>’s Futura follower, <a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/32178/elegant-grotesk" data-entity-code-id="32178" data-entity-code-type="TypeEntity">Elegant-Grotesk</a>. The specific version likely is <a href="https://collections.bm-lyon.fr/MIL_01CTF00101342MG04?&amp;query[]=publisher_s:%22Dutreix%22&amp;hitStart=1&amp;hitTotal=5&amp;hitPageSize=25">Universelles éclairées</a>, a local copy sold by the <a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/foundry/1858/dutreix" data-entity-code-id="1858" data-entity-code-type="Foundry">Dutreix</a> foundry in Limoges.</p>

<p>The plain sans has German roots as well: it’s <a href="https://collections.bm-lyon.fr/mil/search?query[]=title_s:%22Simplex%22">Simplex</a>, a variant of <strong><a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/32796/berthold-grotesk" data-entity-code-id="32796" data-entity-code-type="TypeEntity">Berthold-Grotesk</a></strong> with a monocular <strong>a</strong>, produced by <a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/foundry/788/fonderie-olive" data-entity-code-id="788" data-entity-code-type="Foundry">Fonderie Olive</a> in Marseille.</p>

<p>The italic serif used for “Année” is <strong><a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/89/cheltenham" data-entity-code-id="89" data-entity-code-type="TypeEntity">Cheltenham</a></strong> with <a href="https://oa.letterformarchive.org/item?workID=lfa_type_0486&amp;targPic=lfa_type_0486_011.jpg">the alternate swash <strong>A</strong></a>, available in France from Fonderie Caslon. The wide grot used for the club’s name is yet unidentified.</p>

<p>Putting myself in the shoes of an investigator and a forger, I catalogued the various documents forged by F. Abagnale that appear in the film. I then recreated them as facsimiles and incorporated them into the edition.</p>

<p>These documents interact with scenes from the film in which they appear, the text of Frank Abagnale’s autobiography (which inspired the film), as well as excerpts and images from the book <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Abagnale#Books"><cite>The Art of the Steal</cite></a>, in which the forger shares his knowledge of forgery and explains how to protect oneself from fraud.</p>

The ecologically committed gastronomic enterprise uses local produce that is also sold in the affiliated bakery, wine cellar, and deli.</p>

<p>Chef Sylvain Joffre keeps his promise: his fresh, subtle and fragrant cuisine is born “in the wild”. This authentic cook-gardener-gatherer makes the most of the vegetables and herbs in his kitchen garden, as well as scrupulously selected regional produce. His sincere style precludes any fancy tricks: beautiful produce is worked in all its truth, magnified with juices and coulis, emblazoned with plants and flowers from the garden… all with the constant concern of keeping prices down. As for the decor, it’s a sober interior, or a pleasant terrace shaded by parasols. Highly committed to respecting nature, the chef also offers an adjoining boutique with viennoiseries, brioches and breads made with organic flour. He describes his culinary vision with the following words:</p>

Halberstam views failure as empowering events that can serve as critiques of capitalist and heteropatriarchal norms.</p>

<p>As the title suggests, I failed to translate this text. However, from this book, which seemed so desirable and yet almost unattainable, I tried to grasp what I could in order to redistribute it into the six objects contained in this folder (including, among other things, a discussion with Léo Love Gentil about the collective dansmalangue, a translation of Chapter<span class="nbsp">&nbsp;</span>1 of <cite>TQAOF</cite>, and a SpongeBob Survival Kit). This project experiments with the content of the book itself, putting it to the test in order to imagine it beyond the mystery it holds.</p>

<p><cite>TQAOF</cite> was written in 2011, and Jack Halberstam uses a concept he calls “Low Theory”, with which he seeks to analyze popular culture objects to reach a broader audience. The project is almost exclusively composed in <strong><a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/74000/fluxisch-else" data-entity-code-id="74000" data-entity-code-type="TypeEntity">Fluxisch Else</a></strong> (distributed by <a href="https://osp.kitchen/foundry/fluxisch-else/">Open Source Publishing</a>) and <strong><a target="_self" class="entity-link" href="https://fontsinuse.com/typefaces/198538/adelphe" data-entity-code-id="198538" data-entity-code-type="TypeEntity">Adelphe</a></strong> by Eugénie Bidaut (available on the <a href="https://typotheque.genderfluid.space/index.html">Typothèque Genderfluid</a> by <a href="https://genderfluid.space/">Bye Bye Binary</a>). The two are supported by cameo appearances by a handful of other typefaces.</p>
