A book for fashion brand Melissa that aims to present the company, its history, and the main partnerships with designers and stylists.

Giving prominence to shoe images, the graphic design is minimalist and uses several graphic resources: varnish on all pages, cover with anti-scratch varnish, dry relief, and polystyrene glove.

The typography pairs Tungsten Rounded with Whitney.

Insurance is often synonymous with misfortune and mistrust. Laka needed a brand to challenge those preconceptions, establish a positive, community-based model, and turn the industry on its head.

We partnered on brand strategy, visual and verbal identity, art direction, website design and writing.

Laka are currently focused on cycling insurance. But this brand had to be bigger than insurance policies for bikes. It had to tackle the traditional insurance model while establishing a collective of cyclists that would look out for each other. Where members would pay their share for claims that actually happen rather than ones that might. This brand needed to demonstrate the value of clubbing together.

Following the strategy and identity work, we moved on to helping Laka write and design their new website. And to capture the Laka members in our unique photography style, we held a socially distant photoshoot with Jason Bailey. This identity has been a collaborative effort made all the better for such daring and decisive clients. Long may the ride continue.

The typography combines Ambit (CoType) with Simula from Sharp Type.

The long-established decorative lighting company Studio Italia Design has announced its rebrand to Lodes, by Studio Italia Design:

The rebrand signals an important new phase in the evolution of the Venetian company, which was founded in the heart of Italy’s glassmaking region by Angelo Tosetto in 1950. Today, as part of a strategic vision led by General Manager Massimiliano Tosetto, and as the company celebrates its 70th anniversary, the rebrand to Lodes heralds a new era of contemporary design celebrating the company’s manufacturing know-how and high-quality Made in Italy essence.

The Lodes logo is set in Sud, available from VJ-Type. Most copy uses Practice (Optimo). The website uses LL Unica 77 from Lineto for navigational elements.

LL Unica77 was used already previously in the brand identity.

F37 Jan by F37 Foundry in use by Traffic Digital on their business cards following their rebrand. Screen printed by Dot Studio.

Traffic Digital is a digital studio based in London, in 2019 they rebranded using F37 Jan across their brand collateral, creating a customised ffi ligature encased in their wordmark. The screen printed business cards and contrasting colour palette highlight the finer detail of the font’s ink traps and large counters. A geometry- and modernism-inspired sans serif.

Tiny Bodega is an online marketplace dedicated to BIPOC indie food brands. The vibrantly colored virtual corner store was created by Taylor Cook in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. At Tiny Bodega we believe in transparency, authenticity, and giving credit to cultural relevancy. At our core, we prioritize the equity of Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Of Color founders.

The brand uses a mix of Archivo (Scholtz Fonts) Black, Americana, and ITC Novarese for web, branding, and social.

Dan Bannon is a freelance sports journalist that focuses on GAA matters in County Louth. Reinterpreting the crest for Louth, which is a St. Brigid’s Cross, we created a modernist marque which represents the plus aspect of the business name, and also a graphic take on the Cross.

His wordmark uses Nimbus Sans, the text on the back of the business card is set in Roboto. [edit: It seems to be ITC Franklin Gothic.]
