Sonic Space Basel is the platform of the FHNW Academy of Music Basel for composition, improvisation, contemporary music performance, audio design, and research—a laboratory, communication tool, and information hub for contemporary music. The new branding is based on a modular system that can be used variably. The series includes five defined colors, three of which are used for each print product.

Since the 2019-2020 season, Stuttgart-based Studio Collect is in charge of the visual identity of the space. They created a flexible system combining vivid color blocks and chaotic text compositions set with Euclid Circular A. This system is declined over concert posters, printed material and the institution's website.

Both 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 seasons have respectively been awarded by a Certificate of Typographic Excellence by the Type Directors Club.

Euclid Circular A is part of the Euclid typeface, available from Swiss Typefaces.

Omnes is the typeface used for the Shazam logo.

Originally launched in 2002 and owned by Apple since 2018, Shazam is an app that can identify music and other audio. By 2011, it had become the most downloaded iOS app of all time. It was then that the Brand Union was commissioned to develop a new visual identity. Designer Dana Killinger collaborated with Sam Becker, overseen by Wally Krantz who was Worldwide Creative Director at the time. They chose Omnes Bold, but used it with a twist: the wordmark mixes capitals with lowercase a’s brought to the same height.

The new look was unveiled in January 2012. This means that the logo featuring Omnes turned ten years this month – happy anniversary!

Apart from the logo, Omnes was also used in an advertising campaign. “Discover. Experience. Share.” is set in Omnes Light.

Brand identity for Rise, a digital wealth management company.

Tomato Grotesk was chosen by design studio Dá for the visual identity of Rise. This typeface has the appeal of the traditional corporate grotesque but also has the ultra-contemporary details like its geometric qualities and the flat bases in the j and t. The font is applied on the website, the application, and marketing materials for display purposes.

Rise gives individuals and corporate clients a highly scrutinized and carefully selected portfolio of dollar investments across multiple asset classes that protect and grow wealth at all times.

The German Cyber Security Organization (Deutsche Cyber-Sicherheitsorganisation, DCSO) offers companies state-of-the-art security services. In contrast to other providers, DCSO develops cyber security products together in a community of leading German commercial enterprises, NGOs, and security authorities. The exchange of knowledge and experience within the community generates valuable synergy effects. In this way, each member contributes to DCSO’s purpose of protecting Europe’s values and economy in cyberspace.

Designstudio Helder developed a brand design system that visualizes the unique selling proposition and benefit in a simple but concise way. The key visual is the DCSO Dome, a protective sphere that, upon closer inspection, is composed of many parts representing the community members and their contribution to the collective impact. The main colors of blue and bright green give the appearance depth in keeping with the cyberspace in which DCSO operates. The secondary colors, which are assigned to the portfolio, pick up on the combination of muted primary color with bright accent color. The respective value propositions of the product portfolio were identified in joint digital workshops. This was the basis for the new naming system, which translates the concrete benefits of the respective service areas into calls to action: Connect, Defend, Improve. Icons were added to the service areas to support the message. The brand presence on the website was restructured to make it clearer. In addition, the brand storytelling was sharpened and integrated.

ABC Favorit is used for headlines, with LL Akkurat and LL Akkurat Mono in supporting roles. The wordmark is custom drawn.

Ginkgo Bioworks is an American biotech company founded in 2009 by scientists from MIT. The company specializes in using genetic engineering to produce bacteria with industrial applications. Ginkgo Bioworks is an analytics company that designs organisms for customers in a range of industries. It is the self-proclaimed “Organism Company” and is one of the world's largest privately-held biotech companies.

The website makes use of IvyPresto and Sofia for headlines and text.

Aeonik has been used extensively throughout Virgin hyperloop’s recent re-brand. This includes their website, passenger pods and test tracks.⁠⠀

Duet is the moniker of web developer Dave Maxwell-Wood. The name suggests a digital partner that works in harmony with agencies and designers. We realised that the ‘Et’ of the name made for a nice ampersand/ligature and Ginger was the perfect face for the idea.

Tassat is a FinTech company that provides blockchain-based technology solutions for Digital Payments and Digital Exchange markets.

They use Finador as their brand typeface. Finador is a soft sans-serif by Julien Fincker. The functional style of a geometric sans has been softened by open apertures and rounded corners, which makes it functional and friendly.

Aleno is an online app that provides digital solutions for restaurants to get organized and increase profit. It is the clever reservation system for restaurants. Digital tools for the catering industry with suitable solutions that shorten and simplify administrative processes.
