The Hochschule Bielefeld, formerly known as Fachhochschule Bielefeld, is the largest university of applied sciences in East Westphalia-Lippe, Germany, with over 10,500 students and 900 staff. It was rebranded as Hochschule Bielefeld – University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSBI) in April 2023, which included a complete overhaul of its corporate design and logo. The new identity was crafted by Markwald Neusitzer Identity, a design agency based in Düsseldorf, which provided creative and art direction for HSBI's refreshed brand presence​4​.

For the typography in HSBI Bielefeld's new identity, TWK Lausanne (designed by Nizar Kazan and published by WELTKERN®) is used for both text and headlines. This contributes to a modern and cohesive aesthetic across the university's visual communications.

Studio Size developed a visual identity for Luka Cindrić, an architect with an international background and experience from esteemed global studios such as Fujimoto, Riegler Riewe, and 3LHD, where he contributed to award-winning projects.

The visual identity embodies the technical sophistication of architecture, while its minimalist aesthetic serves a functional purpose by highlighting the studio’s projects, which take center stage in most design materials.

The vibrant blue color draws inspiration from vintage blueprints and symbolizes the studio’s use of cutting-edge technology.

Visual identity and website for Propel, a marine propulsion brand based in Amsterdam. TWK Lausanne is the main typeface; the complementary monospaced sans is NB International Mono.

Mesh Scandinavia is an upcoming design studio originating in Denmark, the most southerly place in the Nordic countries. With an objective to help new brands find their place, Mesh was founded in 2022 by Magnus Hvidtfeldt. The website pairs two similar typefaces, Neue Helvetica and Diatype.

What does psychotherapy mean in the present day, and what can it look like in the 21st century? The founders of Free Therapy, psychiatrists and psychotherapists themselves, are intensively engaged with these questions. Their goal is to free psychotherapy from outdated beliefs and stereotypes, and to make psychotherapy more accessible through wellness objects that emphasize self-care and mindfulness.

This liberating effect impacts the whole concept. The wording “Free your...” expresses a brand new mindset. Everett and Everett Mono by Nolan Paparelli set the typographic stage: Through playful placements of the phrases on the various objects, a space for fresh thoughts is created. Lightness and a modern approach are visible within the logotype, whose more technical mono type version accentuates the professional background of the business. This comes full circle within the color palette, channeling a medical look and feel through dark greens and cobalt blues – without seeming clinical at all, rather serene and modern.

HyperLab is the revolution of HyperCreativeHub, a Milan-based architecture studio born from the minds of Marco Giovannini and Francesco Terragnoli. This transformation was born out of the need to break away from architecture understood in the classical sense, and instead fit into a context that has its core in 3D and virtualization. HyperLab thus defines itself as a virtualization reality, whose mentality can be summarized in the statement creation through visualization.

To represent this transformation, a total rebranding effort was implemented. The protagonist of this process was the three-dimensional concept, which became the unifying element of the entire brand. In fact, the logo is a Cartesian plane constrained in two dimensions in printed communication, but resuming dynamism in the digital one.

HyperLab’s typography is exclusively represented by Tomato Grotesk, designed by Andrea Biggio and available from The Designers Foundry. Its ink traps and shapes lend modernity, yet maintain the classicity of a Grotesk. In this way, the values of HyperLab are perfectly captured.

For the logo itself, the font was slightly altered: ink traps have been inserted even in letters that did not have them at first. This was done to give uniformity to the logo, which being one word does not need high typographical accouterments to ensure readability.

Goena is a collection of refined essentials made for everyday activities. With its minimal personality, the athleisure brand conveys the balancing act between form and function.

Designed by CONTEMPT, the identity features bold colors and basic shapes—brought together by Good Sans Regular by Good Type Foundry.

The Templates, a division of global graphic design resource The Brand Identity, has partnered with Toronto-based creative agency Vanderbrand to produce a new collection of photo-realistic mockups.

The Templates contacted Vanderbrand with a vision for a mockup collection driven by their clean, contemporary aesthetic.

“We pride ourselves not only in the work we produce for our clients, but in the way we communicate our work,” says Anna Vander Herberg, Creative Director at Vanderbrand. “We are intentional in every aspect of our documentation, as the way a project is photographed can dramatically alter how it is perceived.”

The collection of 18 mockups ranges from common stationery applications such as business cards and note cards, to more elaborately fabricated pieces like retail packaging and books.

Founder of The Brand Identity and Co-founder of The Templates Elliott Moody notes, “We are delighted to bring Vanderbrand’s signature aesthetic into our world. Their ability to effortlessly present their work in clean, calm and considered environments translates perfectly into this collection of ultra-realistic mockups. .PEAM stands for interior design, consulting, and distinct living experience. The product collection includes steel and wooden furniture as well as home accessories made by craftsmen and artists of the Bavaria and South Tyrol regions.

Through her showroom, Andrea Harbeck sells her own products, along with such from other select manufacturers, such as Bauhaus ceramics by Hedwig Bollhagen or design classics by Niels Otto Møller. The created interiors are modern, well-balanced, and bright, aligning with Scandinavian or Japanese styles of living.

The selection of two typefaces from Commercial Type empathizes the simplicity and calmness of .PEAM design. The readable and timeless Neue Haas Grotesk Display is coupled with the editorial and contrasting Schnyder L Demi, originally created for the New York Times Style Magazine. The serif used for headlines adds a poetic and soft vibe, where more dry text set in the Swiss-style grotesk fits perfectly with technical drawings of the furniture.

Starting from the homepage, the new website design plays with the idea of zooming into the collection of projects and products. The viewer – both in the showroom and online – enters into a world of objects that contains stories and interiors which stand in contrast to our hectic world, evoking calmness.

Once you enter the project page, you can zoom into photos and see its details and marked products. Stripes of images are divided by typographic compositions, which underline the interior or product's atmosphere.

Collection Born is an art space in Munich, a collection by Linn Born, and a residency program. It’s a metaphorical and physical space for transformation, participation and contemporary art, which shifts between privacy and public.

For this website, the typefaces Waldenburg by kimera and Van Dijk by Jan van Dijk were used. The concept and design were done by Colin Doerffler and Nadine Wetzel, and the website was coded by Manuel Fleig.

Vova Keno is an artist from Ukraine who is currently based in Lviv. He came up with the idea of Project Serendipity. The idea is to collect his works and present them in books. There are three categories: sketches, graffiti pieces, and paintings. The task was to create a system that would be flexible and adjustable next volumes. Shown here is the first volume of sketches, and the main idea was to bring to users the feeling of Keno's original sketchbook. So we kept the same paper color, texture, and composition as in the original sketches. Every item is hand-signed by the author to give a personal touch.

In the words of Keno:

The project called ‘Serendipity’ is a reflection of different stages of my artistic journey, it’s a search for newness and transformation of existing, redefining forms and giving a new meaning to the old things. The term ‘serendipity’ means not only the paths themselves. It is fundamental in the creation process. I would describe it as the ability to draw important conclusions from random observations, to find what you haven’t been looking for. The main principle of serendipity is to be in the right place at the right time because significant changes always happen when you expect them least, but mentally you are ready for them.

e-Types developed the new visual identity along with a new website for Danitacom, using Playtype’s Melanzane throughout in two upright styles.

Danitacom is a chamber of commerce created in 2010. With their knowledge of both the Danish and Italian markets, they act as a mediator between the two countries – by promoting the Made in Italy brand in the Nordic region, and by helping Italian companies expand their activities in Denmark.

With e-mobility on the rise like never before, electric charging brand Clever reached out to e-Types to help them reshape their entire brand.

Using No5 as a primary typeface and inspired by their optimistic brand personality, Clever’s new identity reflects a brand with a positive outlook on the future, communicating one clear message aligned across design, communication, image style and executions.

Wanting to bring some of the raw beauty and unspoilt flavours of the Nordic kitchen to London, haute cuisine restaurant Ekte was looking for a brand expression that could reflect their culinary source of inspiration; the natural elements of the north.

Drawing on the extraordinary contrasts so characteristic to the northern countries, e-Types created a brand identity that carries the Nordic flavour from dish to design. A play between the light and the dark, mild and harsh, the new brand identity for Ekte highlights the rough yet elegant essence of the North. Carried out over both print, web, and core brand materials, the new brand identity for Ekte is typed in Noir No1 by Playtype.

Harris + Wood needed a rebrand that truly reflected who they are. Like many regional towns, the Warrnambool property market is booming and the time was right to reposition their agency for this next chapter. Smart, simple, and confident. It’s all about cutting through the franchise noise in the region. This new identity is considered and refined to strategically communicate the strengths of their business.

Neue Haas Grotesk in use for the portfolio website of Ela Gabriela Design, an independent creative studio based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. We are specializing in branding, packaging and digital design, creating solutions that immerse and inspire. Driven by insight, the studio acts with a unique mix of precision and empathy, building projects that make a difference – for brands that make a difference.

e-Types developed the new creative direction and brand identity for world renowned furniture design brand Fritz Hansen.

Fritz Hansen is often seen as the godfather of Danish design. Their rich heritage and history has played an important role in influencing and sculpting the landscape of local and international design. But with such a legacy follows a large responsibility to stay relevant and keep leading the way, and Fritz Hansen recognised this as a need to capture a new and younger audience. The solution was a rebranding on all platforms, that reintroduced Fritz Hansen in a fresh, new light.

Through a strategic process, sketching out various future scenarios and defining a revisited brand platform, e-Types designed a new path for Fritz Hansen that leveraged the brand's heritage and welcomed their future consumer. The new strategy also focused on strengthening the Fritz Hansen brand in itself, so as it was strong enough to stand alone and not rely on the various designer names. When it came to the refreshed design, amongst other things we reintroduced the FH heritage mark, that was found in the brand’s historical records.

The image style in particular played a large role in the rebranding, as it set out to portray a human element that had otherwise been lacking. It focused on showcasing the furniture in real, aspirational, modern homes – portraying the everyday life in which it plays an important part. All in all, the rebranding opened the door to a new generation of design lovers, whilst safeguarding the exclusivity, integrity and future of the iconic Fritz Hansen brand.

The primary typeface in use is Hansen Grotesque by Playtype, which was created alongside the design development.

+Halle is a Danish furniture design company, focused on spatial solutions for the corporate and industrial market. To emphasize and communicate their specialized knowledge, approach and views, +Halle decided to create a magazine that could be published in print.

In collaboration with +Halle and Kristoffer Dahy Ernst, we designed a magazine concept and layout that could bring the +Halle universe to life, as well as creating a platform where others within the industry could voice their views on the future of workspaces.

The layout principals focused on a minimalistic design system, that clearly differentiated between the essays and interviews – allowing the reader to easily navigate between the two. The publication has been a huge success, and truly supports the company’s ethos and collaboration with other designers and thought leaders throughout the industry.

MyValue is a leading technology provider in the banking sector, serving both individuals and businesses. In 2021, the company was acquired by Finleap Connect.

MyValue approached us for an identity that would reflect their position in the open banking scene as a professional and forward-thinking company. We created an identity in response to their features, a coherent and clear identity. The resulting visual language seeks to convey a sense of transparency and openness; building a distinct and elegant style that represents the company's core values.

We built the identity around a custom logo inspired by the economy and the dynamism of the financial world. This identity is composed of a dynamic pattern that interprets the movement of financial data, a timeless typography using Graphik and a color palette representative of the banking scene. The logo is inspired by the dynamism of open banking, as well as by the union of the two initials of the company's name: the M and the V.

Subsequently, the company took a different direction in terms of corporate typography and decided to use another typeface for its communications.
