Herbar is a new skincare brand focusing on the superpowers of adaptogenic mushrooms, herbs and plants. Herbar was launched by Catarina Oliveira and Rui Liu in 2022.

By embracing texture and letting ourselves be inspired by the places and materials that they work with, we were able to create a vibrant and scalable design language that would serve STUDY both offline and online. We leaned into surprising interaction, expressive typography, and editorial layout to help us tell the stories of their stunning architectural work.

The logo is set in Suisse Int’l, while the headline serif used is Denton.

Previously known as Babe Lash, Babe Original rebranded in 2022 to encompass a wider product line. Staying true to the heritage of the cosmetics brand, Hint created a customized wordmark for Babe Original and each of its three brand families. Didot’s letterforms – with two simple ligatures for BA and IN – create a seamless, classic wordmark, while the brand’s primary type, Sharp Grotesk, introduces boldness and youth to the packaging, social, and other brand touchpoints. A system of condensed and wide weights allows for the type to be fluid in space and tone. By uniting bold typography with a bright color palette, the re-brand is simply expressive and eye-catching in both retail and digital spaces.

Themmer, Toth & Partner (TT+P) is a lawfirm based in Vienna, focusing on personal commitment to their clients whilst maintaining the highest quality of services on an individual level.

We started Police & Thieves in response to the political and social blanching of marijuana by an industry that has stripped the plant of its power. This commodification has made CBD bath balms ubiquitous and has sterilized its subversive potency with the scientific term, “Cannabis.” Part of our reconquista is to embrace the history of marijuana in its totality, including its counterculture, by acknowledging the past and celebrating the creativity that has arisen out of oppression. Police & Thieves is an apotropaic symbol of that possibility. Police & Thieves holds in respect sophistication and aesthetics. Marijuana has been used for centuries as a medium to motivate the mind, to create, collaborate, and build community. It has been used to subvert power. It has been used to commune with power. Our goal is not to reduce flower to its highest THC content but to give prominence to previously neglected qualities of marijuana (such as the entourage effect) in order to cultivate a customizable experience. We are a woman and minority-owned company based in Denver, CO.

Inklination is used throughout the identity of the luxury marijuana brand.

Bloomint is a Barcelona based interior design studio founded in 2012. The studio integrates innovation and technology in all of their procedures, while maintaining the traditional values and craftsmanship that bring an enduring component to their endeavours. Romie (by Margot Lévêque) is used for the logotype and the brand identity, designed by Pol Solsona Studio. Romie is supported by GT America (Grilli Type) in two widths.

Ceramicah creates refined, hand-crafted ceramics for individuals with a contemplative eye. Their meticulous attention to detail and holistic design approach result in pieces that enrich both space and life. The visual identity combines Cormorant and Neue Helvetica. The logo is customized, based off of Gallique.

FIRM.GS designed the brand identity for Andrea Grandi, a Milanese architect and artist. For the project, we drew inspiration from the work he carries out in his professional practice, characterized by the combination of concrete, glass, and natural elements, and which makes extensive use of recycled materials.

The image follows the rationality and rigor found in his creative processes: the intersection of pure geometries creates new forms with a brutalist flavor, treated with an aesthetic approach and particular attention to compositional balance.

Sabelli-Frisch is a low-impact winemaker. Their visual identity, designed by Daniel Carlsten, is based on three elements: the blue sealing wax, the label color, and the use of Futura as the brand typeface. Altogether, the palette generates a subtle but exquisite visual identity.

Panama and Sackers Italian Script are paired in this series of flyers/social media posts. From Mexican wine bar Sorbo (translated):

Elborde X Sorbo is a collaboration that unites two projects to celebrate the complicity and friendship between both brands. We merged the versatility of EB with the spirit of SORBO – natural wines –, to create a limited edition piece: the Sorbo Pants.

VICE has a new voice. The brand identity refresh was developed by the internal VICE creative directors in close collaboration with the Swiss creative studio NIZAR KAZAN + CO. We designed a family of six styles based on Lausanne and four entirely new condensed styles. The voice of VICE had to become unique without changing completely. TWK VICE Grotesk is a contrasting typeface, as it is both vernacular and very sophisticated. The fonts are now used globally across the many channels and brands of the VICE Media Group (website, social networks, corporate, advertising, and magazine).

Off the back of some incredible crowdfunding success that saw them rise to the top 1% of all Indiegogo campaigns (ever!) Flaus asked us to set the vibe for the world’s first planet-friendly electric flosser. Never one to turn down a toothsome opportunity, we dove in from strategy right through to social media to help bring life to the brand that’s opening up a whole new world of oral healthcare.

Heavily influenced by the retro-futuristic brand direction, the logo is a customised quip on Cheee from OH no Type Co., with both the A and the U taking the shape of teeth. Its chubby, expressive character challenges the category norms of clean, sans serif and subtle typefaces, signifying the brand’s distinct difference in the oral beauty space.

Our headline font, Founders Grotesk X-Condensed, was chosen to represent the brand’s first product – tall and lean, it demands attention and trust while retaining a softness and creating balance with the fun of the brand mark. It sits alongside the Untitled Sans workhorse and both typefaces are used across every touch point of the brand identity.

Denton by Peregrin Studio and Neue Haas Grotesk by Commercial Type/Linotype are used for the beautiful branding of independent design/art direction practice of Tomaz Hrastar, Studio Hrastar.

Tiago Baptista is a Portuguese artist currently based in Lisbon. Throughout mostly painting and drawing, his work frequently expands into comics, installation and artists publications.

His portfolio website uses Roc Grotesk for all text except the artist’s name, which is set in Lavigne.

Dreams is a lifestyle store in Los Angeles’ Atwater Village created by creative entrepreneur Monica Navarro and spatial designer Adi Goodrich of Sing-Sing. Studio Elana Schlenker and Élise Rigollet took care of the branding

The identity is anchored by a strong logotype with softly blurred edges used in concert with a toolkit of eclectic type (an elegant serif, glitchy pixelated font, and bubbly display text) and surreal illustrations by Julia Dufossé that add texture and intrigue to the brand’s communications.

The main fonts in use shown in this post are Moore, WT Kormelink and Lo-Res 15, supported by Tiny. The website uses Twentieth Century, and on social media, Dreams makes recurring use of Swear, Snell Roundhand, Vivaldi, among other fonts (not pictured here).

Gradient Type’s PolySans is the brand typeface for New European Bauhaus Spain. From dous studio, who did the design and art direction (translated from the Spanish):

The New Bauhaus is an initiative created to promote the architectural dimension and its value in improving the quality of life of towns and cities by focusing on the concept of quality and the “culture of the built environment”.

Development of graphic identity, editorial design, exhibition and web design for the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda in conjunction with the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) and the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura (ETSAM).

The exhibition A vision from Spain was curated by Javier Peña Ibáñez and shown in Brussels in June 2022.

Château Royal is a fabulous new boutique hotel in the heart of Berlin. This grand hotel, focused on sustainability, presents 93 bedrooms with art by a contemporary artist in each of them, as well as custom-made furnitures. Creative direction by Celia Solf. Art direction by Bus Group.

Romie (by Margot Lévêque) is the typeface used for the whole branding – including the logotype, designed by Camille Bourdon.

Fix Studio is a graphic design studio based in Brooklyn and honored with numerous international awards. The seriousness of their productions needs no longer to be proven and naturally, it is the vivacity of their creativity that the studio wanted to show in a new graphic identity.

In 2022, the studio asked Blaze Type to design a custom logotype for their new identity. An elegant lettering is quickly chosen for its slight shift between retro and classic references. From its calligraphic aspect, the logotype offers various variants of more or less ornate curves allowing to color some supports with a more or less dressed or relaxed atmosphere.

It is this uninhibited aspect, retro without being easily dated, which imposes the Spencerian style as that of a youth both mocking an outdated past and with a charm that goes beyond generational conflicts. Fix Studio, by appropriating again this calligraphy for its logo, updates the vivacity of this style.

But the big question for this type of use, with its chiseled and fine curves, remains the consistency between the fineness of the design and its use in different display or print sizes.

Moreover, the uniqueness of the typographic file also allows to group a set of possibilities, especially when some variants are thought. In the case of the logotype for Fix Studio, the curves of the capital F can be composed in a simple version with three drops or more ornate with four drops. The final x also exists in a more ornate capital variant. From these different optical sizes, it is a global system that can be deployed according to the needs, and without the need to go and find other files than the one of the dedicated typography.

Finally, Rules go along the custom logo and is used for the whole body text of the website.
