Coinciding with the launch of their experiential MAAP LaB store, TRiC was invited to art direct and design the second issue of the MAAP publication Off The Front.

As an extension of the LaB brand, TRiC incorporated the typefaces ABC Synt and ABC Oracle by Dinamo and Base Monospace by Emigre to bring a new dimension to the publication. These typefaces were employed within a dynamic, flexible grid system, referencing concrete poetry and early desktop publishing layouts. The energy, movement and pace of the publication reinforce MAAP’s position as a leader in design and innovation within the global cycling industry.

Art Days – Napoli Campania’s third edition, titled “Crossing Layers,” takes place from October 19 to 29, 2023. It offers a diverse cultural program across Naples and the Campania region, featuring exhibitions, workshops, and discussions hosted by various organizations.

They use BM Ikon by Murathan Biliktü for titles and Neue Haas Grotesk by Christian Schwartz for the body text.

Vasava designed the new identity for Spain Fashion, ICEX’s division for the fashion sector. ICEX (Spain Export and Investments) is the institution that promotes the internationalization of the Spanish economy and companies, as well as foreign investments in Spain.

Spain Fashion needed a recognizable, scalable identity, so versatile as to reflect the heterogeneity and diversity of the Spanish fashion industry (which includes both haute couture and leather workers) and so transversal as to bring together the avant-garde and the transgression of the new creators, the power of the most consolidated brands and the tradition of the most time-honoured proposals in the sector.

The heterogeneity of the Made in Spain fashion sector becomes tangible in the letters that make up the naming Spain Fashion which, randomly, change their spelling for symbols set in ITC Zapf Dingbats.

To sustain this dynamic and diverse identity profile, typography was a key element. Vasava opted for the combination of two typefaces, a neutral grotesque sans serif, Neue Helvetica, and the other a handmade calligraphic typeface, Ogg Display, with which they built an aggressive contrast that fuses tradition and avant-garde.

Mickael Dard created the poster design for the 16th edition of Augenblick, a French festival of German-spoken movies. The typefaces he used are Kiosk and Neue Haas Grotesk 65 medium. While all the infos were set with Neue Haas Grotesk in a bright orange, Kiosk was used to fill the background and serve as a window through which this year's guest of honor Hanna Schygulla can be spotted.

HUMANITY: poster series for Gwangju Design Biennale (GDB) 2019 - 광주디자인비엔날레, International Invitational Poster Exhibition, held at the Asia Culture Center (ACC), Gwangju, South Korea, 2019.

The poster series combines the classic forms and vertical axis with sharp pointy serifs in Cirka, the boasting monospace/geometric features and the apparently contemporary ink traps in Neue Machina, with the broken curves and the strong contrast between thick & thin lines in Blocus with its Gothic manuscript style. Masked by the illustration, bits of Nostra Stream can be spotted on the right hand of the designs.

HUMANITY, the combination of HUMAN+COMMUNITY, extends its concept from an individual to a community level by co-existing and considering the surrounding environment and people around “me.” Usually our human-centered thinking forces us to neglect the meaning of being humans, social thinkers and adaptive creatures, to alter ourselves or overcome the peer pressure. The purpose here is to express the current scene of HUMANITY, also it could be used as a documentation for an upcoming NON-HUMAN civilization, who knows?!
