Taco Mesa is a taqueria in Paris run by chef Beatriz Gonzalez. The brand identity was designed by Studio Furious. We’ve used GT Flexa by Grilli Type for the logotype and text on the menus, packaging, stationery and signage. The M symbol is a custom design, it’s directly inspired by the taco holder shape with a touch of typical ’70s pattern. In addition, a shapes directory echoing the architectural choices of the restaurant animates the visual identity. Architecture and interiors were designed by Uchronia.

Härman Coffee is the side hustle of Alp Eren Tekin, founder and creative director of Härman Studios in İstanbul.

At Härman, our name symbolizes a perfect synergy of caffeine, goods, and creative services. We're not your typical coffee brand; We're a harmonious blend of flavors, cultures, and experiences, crafting something truly exceptional. Our mission is to elevate the coffee culture and beyond, offering extraordinary choices while meticulously redefining standards. Härman is operating as both a coffee brand and a creative studio.

The typeface used for Härman’s logo is KTF Rublena. Other typefaces used for the items shown here include Founders Grotesk with Mono and Editorial New for “StudioBlend”.

Graille is a no-holds-barred canteen for schools that don’t have a catering solution to offer their pupils. Meals are cooked with fresh, local produce every day by a chef in Lyon in their restaurant/kitchen. In addition, they are developing and installing vending machines directly in the schools, so that pupils can have healthy meals every day.

They contacted French art director Dirtypote to design their global identity. He developed a logo, a color scheme, and a typographic universe around “movement”, which refers to the products that fall from behind the glass of the dispenser into your hands.

The font used for the project is Gustavo (from Lift Type), for the logo the lowercase a and e have been modified to match the size of the uppercase.

This identity is accompanied by illustrations featuring a multitude of culinary ingredients to show Graille’s interest in local, fresh produce.

Visual identity designed by Horah Inc. for Mirchi, a natural spiced rum distilled locally in the UK and inspired by West African and South Asian roots. Eclect Burger is used for the brand name. Text/information is set in Sneak from TIGHTYPE supported with Söhne Breit from Klim Type Foundry.

Bioburger is more than just a fast-food chain; it’s a 100% organic burger joint experience. Founded in 2011 in Paris by two school friends, Anthony & Louis, Bioburger made history by becoming the first 100% organic certified fast-food in France and proudly boasts 21 restaurants across the country.

The previous visual identity, though embracing some organic brand values, fell short of fully conveying the deliciousness of the offering, nor the commitment behind the recipes or the choices of suppliers. The reality of the offer was not clear to the consumer, and the presence in mind of the brand was too weak.

Our goal was crystal clear: Bioburger needed a new, impactful visual identity that brings in tastiness, coolness, and desirability to position itself as the committed fast-food of tomorrow.

The result of a year-long collaboration with the fantastic team at Bioburger, is a bold, mouthwatering, and joyful logo. A vibrant new orange color complements the traditional dark green hue. A significant and contemporary typography (ABC Ginto Nord by Dinamo) enhances catchy headlines.

The tone of voice is simple, direct and playful, reflecting the state of mind of the brand. Lastly, this rebranding is accompanied by a new artistic direction, embodied, sincere, lively, to create proximity with consumers.

With this new visual identity, Bioburger is taking a significant step, in line with its core values, to pursue its mission: to involve the burger generation and their children in the societal transition around a product loved by all – the burger.

To Studio Oeding, “eating good food at a reduced speed means enjoying it.” The Hamburg-based studio developed the brand concept, naming, packaging and logo for Slow Fast Food. The minimal design – just white type printed on transparent labels, attached to reusable glass jars – combines two typefaces: Futura underpins the graphic minimalism. Churchward Brush is used in its Italic style. Its task is to visualize the fast aspect.

Les Burgers de Colette is a hamburger restaurant franchise that emerged in 2019 in the city of Bordeaux, France. To revamp its identity, Studio OUAM took on the project, breathing life into a complete renovation. This involved the creation of innovative graphic elements, ranging from new typefaces to captivating illustrations. Furthermore, they worked on an updated menu and a graphic style that exudes a cozier and more familiar atmosphere.

On their portfolio website, the creative studio describes the new proposition as follows:

Colette's burgers is the story of a family at heart. A family united around your favorite Auntie, Colette, who is madly in love with burgers, good products and simple pleasures.

The typography features four different typeface families. For headlines, Ginto Nord Ultra Condensed (Dinamo), Gig Thin (Franziska Weitgruber), and Rosso Alt Regular (W Foundry) are used. Beatrice Regular (Sharp Type) complements them for body text.

Prior to 1993, McDonald’s used a variety of typefaces for packaging and advertising purposes, but rarely was there any consistency in their use. During the 1970s and 1980s, commonly used fonts included:

• Cooper Black (food packaging and some commercials in the 1970s)
• ITC Kabel (various commercials and print applications)
• ITC Serif Gothic (1980s McNugget packaging and miscealleous print applications)
• Gill Kayo (1970s “You Deserve a Break Today” print advertisements)
• Raleigh (styrofoam and paper food packaging in the 1980s and early 1990s)
• Windsor (1970s breakfast print ads)

Beginning in 1993 and continuing throughout the 1990s, McDonald’s selected Bodega Sans, and began using it uniformly, across the majority of their print ads, TV commercials, in-store marketing, and food packaging. Tekton, in many cases, was used in a secondary capacity.

Piou Piou! is a chicken rotisserie located in Paris in the 9th district. At the counter, you'll find a 100% take-away service and eco-responsible offer. On the menu, French chicken, free range, quality, well cooked and well presented. We supported the PiouPiou! team in the definition of their brand platform and the design of visual expression territories ranging from the logotype to outdoor signage.

The typography pairs RL Refusit from Regular Lines with the monospaced Compagnon and Compagnon Medium (available from Velvetyne).

Inspired by bands like The Growlers, The Sandz is born in Floripa, the “Brazillian California”. From the name to the food, The Sandz is a new option beyond the traditional hamburger, with sandwiches for those who appreciate quality ingredients and real food.

We represented the thoughtful sandwich preparation with handmade elements and print textures, and illlustrations that portray each ingredient. By presenting Dolorez, Charlotte and Yoko with a unique and laid back look in just the right measure, the visual, voice and musical identity bring back the goods moments of those who lived and live the surf and skate culture.

Robert Slimbach’s Acumin is used in a mix of weights and widths.

A tray liner distributed in restaurants in 1988 comparing the nutritional value of a Quarter Pounder combo with several other uncanny-looking American dinners, which might be technically true based on calories-by-volume, but come on (look at those fries!). I'm reminded of that Calvin and Hobbes strip about sugary cereal:

CALVIN: Look, it says right on the box, "Part of a wholesome, nutritious, balanced breakfast."

HOBBES: And they show a guy eating five grapefruits, a dozen bran muffins...

Really nice use of ITC Kabel here that flexes its personality as a display face and its 1980s goofiness, bouncing off those glossy food photos with classic corporate flair. While this scan isn’t the highest resolution, it looks like Kabel is also being used to set the body text.

A McDonalds sticker from the 1970's, extolling the virtues of cheeseburgers. This came to me from Australia, so I'm assuming that's where it was originally distributed.

The type is set in Folio, using the straight-legged alternate R as offered by Bauer.

Choosey cheese choosers always say cheese please when they choose the cheese in the cheeseburgers at McDonald’s.

The Icelandic Hamborgarafabrikkan (Hamburger Factory) specializes in quality hamburgers of any kind and has several locations in Iceland. The website shows a conspicuous mix of Telefon for headings and text accentuations, Abril Fatface for section headings (as well as Telefon almost exclusively in capital letters) and Open Sans for continuous text.
