Sackers Open Antique, a revival of a classic retro 1950s engraving style, here used for a wedding invitation.

Invitation for a Basket Sociable at the Snyder’s residence, “one mile northwest of Lititz”, Pennsylvania, 1894. The typography features the typical eclectic mix of period typefaces, including two designs by William W. Jackson for MacKellar, Smiths & Jordan; Cruikshank (1886) and Unique Celtic (1889). “Basket” is set in Bruce’s Ornamented No. 1049 (1875).

The upright cursive with horizontal contrast and the large descending initials is Pencraft, designed by Herman Ihlenburg for MS&J in 1885. “Complimentary” might be Antique No. 310, a precursor to Bookman (see also Old Style Antique No. 7). The italic is Old Style No. 2 or similar. While the wide sans serif used for “Committee” is unidentified, the names appear to be set in Ronaldson (1884).

With a love that spanned more than two decades, Christopher and Patrick's wedding was set to be a momentous celebration.

A moody autumnal palette of reds and a simple pairing of Heldane and a wide style of GT America carried through everything from the letterpressed invites to the Madonna-inspired tote bags and event styling.

Multiple typefaces have been used for Jazz St. Louis' invitation and program to its annual fundraising gala. Jazz St. Louis is an organization whose mission is to advance the art of jazz through live performance, education and outreach.

The design for the event’s invitation and program is a contemporary take on classic jazz graphics, using silkscreened neons for the invite and a tone-on-tone bronze foil for the program cover.

An event was recently thrown at a local authentic Italian restaurant, Giovanni's, to bring together marketing leaders of the Nashville and Atlanta areas. With the invitation, we wanted to entice people enough to attend the event and also showcase the Northern Italian authenticity. Italian wine, out-of-print Italian coins (the Lira), luxurious chocolate and a map of the motherland helped boost the event's authenticity and were packaged and hand-delivered to marketing professionals.

We used and altered Carolyna to give the invitation an air of elegant sophistication and playfulness.
