Scott Miller, a premier salon, spa, and store in New York, is dedicated to creating an expansive experience for both clients and staff—an environment where everyone is respected, deeply cared for, and appreciated with gratitude.

Scott Miller opened the doors in 1985. The journey has taken them from a small salon in Fairport, New York, to the 15,000 square-foot Pittsford location today, located at 3340 Monroe Avenue, which houses the salon, spa, and store. They hand-pick the highest quality beauty and wellness products from around the world, and bring them to you in Rochester, New York, or at your fingertips in their robust online store.​

In this brand rework, we retained the well-known logo and created a new system around it. We enhanced typography and grid system, improving usability and readability on the web. In consultation with the brand, we developed a new color palette that is both energetic and delicate. To complement the new look, we designed a monogram emblem, offering new ways to utilize it in small spaces and enhancing the overall brand feel.

Additionally, we designed the website where you can experience Scott Miller’s new look in all its details. To reinforce the brand’s new perception, we created a modern and easy-to-use design.

Inner Bloom is the holistic health and acupuncture practice of neurosurgeon Julia Reinhart in Vienna. Studio Grund created the practice's visual identity intertwining “these themes of blossoming, balance, and holistic wellbeing”.

Floral elements are woven into the unique logo typeface, its elegant, modern look influencing the overall typography. Fonts were carefully selected to balance character with delicacy and femininity, while the signet draws inspiration from nature to symbolize the connection from root to head, as well as the concept of equilibrium

The wordmark is set in NaN Success Titling, all in lowercase. STK Hugo (Smuss Type Kiosk) and Francesco (Production Type) bring different but complementary organic and soft notes to the typography palette, an interesting mix of three separate serif typefaces for the main typography. General Type’s Mier B completes the palette as a contrasting geometric sans used sparingly for more utilitarian contents, and maybe a dose of serious.

The Rosemary brand is all about natural, organic and/or clean cosmetics. For the launch of the enterprise in 2022, we unleashed all our feminine energy and got down to work. As this type of cosmetics focuses on ingredient transparency, we used commas and lists throughout the identity.

Matter’s founders got frustrated by the amount of wet wipes, bottles of hand sanitiser, and disposable face masks and gloves tossed in the trash during the pandemic and decided to try to minimise the damage to the environment. On its website, the company says that the coating they developed provides antimicrobial protection for any surface and can be used instead of non-recyclable wet wipes.

Base&Bloom by NaumType, Rework by Sociotype Foundry and Circa by Pangram Pangram are charged with typography on the Matter packaging designed by Designsake.

Access is a new yoga and movement studio bringing a fresh perspective to New York City’s wellness space. Design studio Mammmal described their work as follows:

The brand symbol, which behaves as a submark, conveys the notion of personal growth within the context of this “third space.” Meanwhile, the logotype’s friendly letterforms convey the studio’s inherently approachable attitude, with an unexpected ligature between the “e” and “s” nodding to intuitive movement and flow state. [...]

We aimed to introduce an entirely new and distinctive flavor into the mix: a brand that is contemporary but unpretentious, easygoing but mature. The type system helps us to strike this balance, with headlines set in the elegant and expressive Self Modern (Bretagne Type Foundry) and body copy set in the clean and friendly Riposte (Good Type Foundry). Amber serves as a highly ownable primary brand color that is at once energetic and deeply soothing. Whereas competitors aim to convey prestige by leveraging the social capital of celebrity influencers, Access’s communications strategy builds rapport through direct but down-to-Earth phrasing that busy New Yorkers can digest at a glance.

With over two decades of a dedicated yoga practice and ten years of teaching experience, I stepped away from an established corporate advertising career in 2015 to devote my life to the art, science, and lifestyle of yoga. As the practice has been a steady companion through the trials and tribulations of life, I aim to share its value with a wide demographic of students.

The logo is based on F37 Bergman, with a custom un pair. Text on the website is set in Parabole Text and Zapf Humanist 601.

Three doctors, three orientations, one practice. That is the orthopedic practice Kreuzberg. Here, orthopedics is combined with osteopathy and trauma surgery. Close, attentive and at the cutting edge of medicine. The two fonts combine exactly these aspects. The liveliness and human closeness is embodied by Eczar, while Montserrat stands for the clarity and straightforwardness of the latest standards. The result is a corporate that focuses on the three founders and the three orientations of the practice.

The Kay is a boutique Pilates studio right outside of Antwerp, Belgium.

On their website, Off-The-Grid mentions:

We created a brand that’s minimal yet different. Built around the idea of movement and alignment. The logo can be split up to add important pieces of text in between or it can be used on one line.

For the brand assets, Off-The-Grid usually worked with the logo as the main focus. They made the logo large and bold so there’s immediate brand recognition.

The typeface used for the logo is Relais with a modified A and Y. It is paired with Sofia for texts.

What does psychotherapy mean in the present day, and what can it look like in the 21st century? The founders of Free Therapy, psychiatrists and psychotherapists themselves, are intensively engaged with these questions. Their goal is to free psychotherapy from outdated beliefs and stereotypes, and to make psychotherapy more accessible through wellness objects that emphasize self-care and mindfulness.

This liberating effect impacts the whole concept. The wording “Free your...” expresses a brand new mindset. Everett and Everett Mono by Nolan Paparelli set the typographic stage: Through playful placements of the phrases on the various objects, a space for fresh thoughts is created. Lightness and a modern approach are visible within the logotype, whose more technical mono type version accentuates the professional background of the business. This comes full circle within the color palette, channeling a medical look and feel through dark greens and cobalt blues – without seeming clinical at all, rather serene and modern.

When Marine Boutin-Etchecopar & Charline Vincent-Lucas took over the well-known independent Parisian bookstore NordEst in 2021, they decided to freshen up its branding and storefront. They asked Travaux-Pratiques to do so.

Having experience in designing wayfinding systems for huge complexes, Travaux-Pratiques not only designed a new identity for the bookstore, but also a whole orientation system for the shop. Using Euclid Vanguard Mono, they designed special metallic bookends serving as separators on shelves. The type is also used on walls and storefront for even more clarity.

The branding is applied to stationery, various cards and some nice wrapping paper. Above all, it’s used distinctively on the store’s Instagram as it is their dedicated communication platform.

Euclid Mono is part of the Lab typefaces, available from Swiss Typefaces.

The Lance Wyman book used for the demonstration happens to be set in Suisse Int'l.

A former Augustinian convent became August – a modern-day sanctuary that embodies its sacred soul while charming one-and-all with modernist touches in every intricate detail. August is an ambitious restoration with the sole purpose to be a meeting point in the neighbourhood, and deliver an experience to remember for travelers of all ilk.

The geometric and functional character of Euclid Circular A fits the project perfectly.
Its straightforward shapes are a reference to the rigour and purity that were once fundamental values in the convent. Euclid is paired with the characteristic Gza which enhances the overall branding with its distinctive sharp, triangular serifs. The room numbers are hand-painted.
