Editorial meets vintage – romantic brand design for Olive & Co, a wedding planner in Calgary.

We created a refined typographic logo that feels both timeless and modern, paired with custom illustrative elements inspired by olive branches. The branding incorporates subtle baroque details, with ornate flourishes and vintage-inspired motifs, nodding to the founder, Elizabeth's love for classical music and European architecture.

The visual identity walks the line between modern editorial design and ornate, vintage-inspired luxury, reflecting Olive & Co.’s signature approach to event design: thoughtful, romantic, and diverse.

Revel Studio’s branding and website design for Robert Marcillas, a leading European wedding photographer. The project is set in Romie Regular with its elegant ligatures set (designed by Margot Lévêque), supported by DM Sans (by Colophon) and Bellissima Script (by Sudtipos).

The Bundespreis für Kunststudierende (“Federal Prize for Art Students”) is organized every two years and is open to art students from 24 academies, colleges and universities in Germany.

The catalog for the 26th edition was designed by students of the ABK Stuttgart. It features a slipcase crafted from brown cardboard material, secured with an integrated magnet strip for a seamless closure. Inside, six artist portfolios are presented, offering insights into their biographies, diverse works through imagery, and accompanying texts about their artistic endeavors. Additionally, each individual catalog incorporates a built-in pocket that houses five postcards.

The typefaces used are from the EK Roumald family (Roman, Italic, Bold and Bold Italic) by Erkin Karamemet and Elza by Daniel Sabino.

För is a book by Icelandic artist Agnieszka Sosnowksa, published by Trespasser in June 2024. On their website, we can read:

Agnieszka Sosnowska’s debut monograph, För, is an intimate portrait of the artist’s life and community in a remote corner of East Iceland. Sosnowska was born in Poland and raised in Boston. Coming of age between two countries and disparate cultural identities, she felt neither fully Polish nor American during her youth. It wasn’t until adulthood that she moved to Iceland and found the place where she truly belongs. Here, Sosnowska lives a quiet life, residing on a farm with her husband and working as a teacher in a rural k-12 school. In this tight knit world, she uses a large format view camera to photograph the land and people with tenderness and unwavering commitment. Set amidst the harsh elements and rugged beauty of the Nordic landscape, För is a book of gratitude and love – a story about finding home and a chosen family that carry through the seasons of life.

To design this book, Cody Haltom used the typeface Louize designed by Matthieu Cortat and distributed by 205TF.

First edition thus, first impression. One of a limited edition of 500 copies. This copy from the library of Eric Gill’s brother Evan, with his bookplate to the front pastedown. A lovely copy of this beautifully-produced edition of the sonnets. Scarce in the jacket.

It’s not clear whether Eric Gill is responsible for the book design and the jacket, too.
