Viewbook.com is a web app that allows photographers to easily create their portofolio websites, while Viewbook for iPad is a viewer for the photos. Calluna and JAF Facit are combined to create a clean and minimlist website. On Viewbook for iPad, JAF Facit is used throughout as an UI font.

On the website of Big Bang Data, an exhibition at the Somerset House in London about the current data explosion, ATF Alternate Gothic is used in caps for Navigation and section headings in combination with Benton Sans for other HTML text.

The Big Bang Data logo uses a different typeface, as yet unidentified.

Psychotherapy and psychological services in Warsaw is a counselling and psychotherapy center. It offers professional help for individuals, couples/marriages and families in English, Polish and Swedish. It was established in 2010 by psychotherapists Agnieszka Serafin and Mikołaj Czyż and is located in a quiet neighborhood in the very heart of Warsaw.

Below is a brief overview of the Myodetox brand identity system. Myodetox is both a new form of physiotherapy, as well as a lifestyle brand. Our initial thinking when starting the process was to create a contrast to the complicated method by establishing a simplistic visual image. Eventually this became more and more difficult as we looked deeper into the core of the entity itself, and then we hit a groundbreaking moment.

The tensegrity principle, the structural principle based on unrelated and isolated objects forming one structure and affecting one another was found to be the true heart of the Myodetox method. We knew this had to also be the heart of its identity and thus we found a novel solution to the problem before us. We established a tensegrity structure to be used as the jewel of this image, a forever changing centerpiece that is as dynamic as is the entity it represents.

The Hyperlapse wordmark uses the Light weight of Freight Sans, a typeface used throughout Instagram’s branding and UI. Freight Sans is also used in the app. The Instagram logo is custom lettering by Mackey Saturday.

The iOS version of the Instagram app uses Freight Sans for large type (usually centered headlines) and the system’s Neue Helvetica for everything else. On Android, that system’s Roboto is used along with Freight.

The Instagram website uses Proxima Nova for all text with Neue Helvetica as a fallback.

The current logo, which replaced a sloppy Billabong-based mark in May 2013, is custom lettering by Mackey Saturday. The icon sports a little “Insta” badge in Chunk.

Server hosting company GleSYS released a movie last week about secure media destruction. We thought that the movie deserved a small campaign site and this is the result. The site is in Swedish, but we hope you can enjoy the visuals.

The app uses FF DIN while the website uses DIN Next.

Instapaper is a service that saves web content for later and presents it in formats optimized for reading on the web or on an iOS app. A new site design lauched on August 28, 2013 with FF Tisa used for the logo and Adelle Sans for everything else. All the type is rendered by webfonts.

The pitch page for a messaging app with end-to-end encyption. Hemlis means “Secret” in Swedish.

Although it primarily uses a webfont version of the much derided “Frankenfont”, I can’t help but love the general application of typography throughout the new Google Maps interface. A clear hierarchy and good use of the appropriate weights of the typeface give the application a tidy appearance. The designers clearly did their best with the materials they were given, and I think it’s one of the few examples of when a good design manages to overcome its decisions in the font-choosing department.

The official website announcing a new platform that integrates Facebook into the Android OS uses Freight Sans, which has become Facebook’s standard for special web pages and announcements.

The Facebook Home product itself eschews the standard Android font family, Roboto, for Neue Helvetica, a typeface that, for many, is immediately associated with iOS and iPhone.

Gridset is a tool for making web design grids. The site uses Freight Sans as a webfont for everything except text under 16px or so, then goes Neue Helvetica. I would have chosen the more related and better reading Lucida Grande/Sans instead. That aside, it’s a clean and well organized site that instills confidence in the product.
