This Christmas album was recorded by Don Janse (1929–1999) and his Chorale & Children’s Choir, and released by Pickwick Records in the Mr. Pickwick series in 1973. The illustration is signed “U.M.”

The title, The Little Drummer Boy, is set in Big Fat. The open and shaded sans with counterless caps was released in the early 1970s by Lettergraphics. Its designer is unknown.

A colourful leaflet issued for the London trade to sell motor coach touring holidays of the English Lake District. The deal included ‘express coach service travel’ outbound and homewards provided by regular scheduled coach services up into Lancashire and Westmorland before settling down in pre-booked accomodation and then seeing the sights by day tours.

The leaflet notes that these holidays are provided by “Standerwick – Scout”; in truth both these long established names in coach services were subsidiaries of the well known Ribble Motor Services who, despite acquisition of both, chose to retain the identity of each operator. Standerwick were based in Blackpool whilst Scout were closer to Ribble's home in Preston.

The artwork appears to be signed "HS", the initials just being clipped off the edge of the leaflet. The text appears to have been machine set.

After a first collaboration in 2020, where Nostra Sett was used in the music video, Belgian producer Le Motel and British rapper Magugu released a 4-song EP in February 2023. The artwork was designed by Le Motel, like most things coming out of his own music label Maloca Records, and uses — you've guessed it — Nostra Sett, this time in a slightly compressed version, making the letters a bit closer to being squares. Being monospaced, it plays nicely with the similarities between the two words in the title, “Kindness Weakness”.

As is often the case on Maloca Records, the artwork is a full-page picture, covered on the left with a type-only strip, showing all caps Obviously for supporting text. The Maloca logotype uses Eckmannpsych with an alternate M and what appears to be an enlarged lowercase C.

Kraft Market is a new urban terrace in the heart of Bucharest, Romania. With environmental and graphic design by Daniel & Andrew Design Studio, the market makes extensive use of my typeface Megazoid… I couldn’t be happier with how they have put it to use!

Kraft Market combines the experience of an urban garden with the commitment to tell the story of the craftsmanship community. Megazoid typeface perfectly checks all the boxes of this identity and wordmark. It has a beautiful structure made of raw elements, that creates a memorable tension between readability and abstraction. This expresses in a visual manner both the unique profile of the space and what it means to build something handmade.

Kraft Market’s logo and headlines take advantage of Megazoid’s alternate single-story a and rounded e, which softens its appearance slightly. Freight Text serves as a companion face, used for supporting text and some headlines. The type is accompanied by bright colors, bold geometric patterns, and simple but effective illustrations. The environmental graphics include large illuminated signs and neon.

The lovely illustrations were done by Alina Georgescu, and Kaustik served as the production studio on the project.

The market’s visual language has grown to include a Christmas pop-up (Târg de Krafciun), which features some beautiful three-dimensional uses of Megazoid, as well as Forma DJR for informational text.

LILAMORS is a new project of old friends. With their latest album, When I Am Dead, My Dearest, they are presenting a new member, a new name, and new aesthetics.

The band name is based on a slightly edited Sword by Kazuhiro Aihara.
Eiko is the text typeface used on the back and on the labels.

The design is based on a black-and-white contrast made in 1-color offset printing. There are 200 unique covers with different numbers and combinations on custom hand-carved holographic foil illustrations.

The band members are Ana Čop (vocals), Thilo Seevers (piano), and Jaka Arh (sound processing, electronics). The album was recorded by Daniel Somaroo at Jazzcampus Basel, Switzerland. Martin Ruch did the mastering and Daniel Dettwiler the mixing.

Alias is “the official selling app of GOAT and Flight Club”. It allows fashionistas to resell new and used sneakers, apparel and accessories.

Laura Csocsán designed the Seller Report 2023. She used the variable font Harber by Benoît Bodhuin in combination with alias’s custom versions of Metodo and Metodo Mono, designed by Davide Tomatis and available from Optimo.

Elsewhere is a multi-room music venue, nightclub, and arts space in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Our focus is underground and unbound music, presented with love. Since 2017, Elsewhere’s three stories of dancefloors and stages have been home to expansive sonic offerings for all New Yorkers to explore.

They use Serial A (Dum Dum Studio) with special glyphs for headlines. The layouts use TWK Everett (Weltkern) and sometimes Cigars (Heavyweight) for text and small info. They also use both versions of Hertz for the logo, with different textures to keep it dynamic.

In October 2023, the Floréal Belleville celebrated its fifth anniversary. The Floréal is a Parisian venue housing a bar/restaurant as well as a space dedicated to art and culture. Located in a former bakery, it is committed to sharing and promoting emerging creativity.

The restaurant changes its menu according to the suggestions of young chefs, and the cultural space regularly hosts new exhibitions and other events to promote young artists in a variety of disciplines. To celebrate their birthday, they organized a whole month of events: collaboration with chefs, residencies, parties…

They commissioned the French graphic designer Louna Humbert to design this mini-identity. She used Dina Chaumont Display in combination with Utopia to create the artworks. The mono is the Floréal’s standard typeface Founders Grotesk Mono. Louna created a poster, a flyer, the menus, the window signage, the social media posts and a limited edition T-shirt. Happy birthday Floréal!

FUTUR is a Hudson Valley, NY, startup born with the mission to catalyze, facilitate and strengthen the relationship of well-being between the planet and humanity through the creation of a sustainable, regenerative, modular and affordable housing system called HÔM – and its variable ZÔM.

FUTUR's visual identity was created by Carme, from São Paulo, Brazil, with the challenge of integrating, in the same ecosystem, a warm, aspirational and humanized expression, with an informative, technical and functional communication but avoiding visual stereotypes with a futuristic and/or hyper technological aspect.

Ofform, from Displaay, was used with some customization to create FUTUR’s logo. It was chosen because its shapes evoke the combination of the straight and organic shapes of HÔM and ZÔM. The logo is composed of individual modules that create a stable and unique structure when joined together, precisely because they adopt an interdependent relationship, reinforcing the brand’s community attribute.

The color palette is an interpretation of some of the base materials of the houses (hemp, limestone, glass) and works as a welcoming and comforting element. Complementary to the colors, images of nature were incorporated as warming and humanizing agents of the visual universe.

Finally, as the supporting font, the classic and practical Neue Haas Grotesk – combined with a set of light and minimalist graphic forms (lines, domes, etc.) – was used as an agent of the technical expression of communication.

Whilst working at FARM, Rebekah Lee created the visual identity for HotBuns, a South-east Asian and Chinese street food takeout located at the Clarke Quay in Singapore. Inspired by the various kinds of colourful street stalls in Asia, a vibrant colour palette was defined and paired up with expressive typefaces.

The identity’s primary typeface is Kiosk by Nguyen Gobber which was also used in a slightly adapted version. The shape of Kiosk’s B also inspired the shelving system used for the takeout’s interior design. Supporting typefaces are Abordage by Eugénie Bidaut for copy text and Noto Sans to cover the Traditional Chinese script.

Ayer and TT Hoves are the brand typefaces of Mélange, a exquisite dinnerware brand based in Los Angeles. From the simple to the precious, the serious to the whimsical, Mélange offers a wide range of tableware that is sure to impress the most discerning customers.

We created a new visual identity that reflects the essence of the unique style and approach of Mélange products. The main concept is to convey the quality and craftsmanship that are at the core of Mélange's values. The logo reflects both minimalism and disruptiveness, with a condensed effect on the letters that convey modernity and sophistication.

Together with bidt (Bayerisches Forschungsinstitut für Digitale Transformation / “Bavarian research institute for digital transformation”), made in developed a new visual identity for the young institute. The new look emphasizes its friendly humanistic approach and at the same time regards the rigorous and precise character of its scientific research. The main visual idea clearly derives from the concept of collaboration and transformation represented by a twisted tape.

Typography plays a key role in maintaining this balancing act. We chose Nolan Paparelli’s TWK Everett as the official brand typeface as it reflects the brand concept by its playful organic and humanistic features on one side and its clear, highly readable and digital flavor on the other side.

With a colorful and lively design, we summed up the openness and accessibility of the institute and its members. The flexible use of the brand’s key visual as an ordered grid or as freely arranged elements allows a restrained communication for scientific purposes as well as a more energetic and playful communication for social media within the same comprehensive visual architecture.

For the 12th edition of the Toulon based dance and music festival Constellations, the visual identity shows collages that mix the bodies of dancers with urban elements and typical Toulon landscapes. Designed by Hélène Mailloux-Laugier and set in Margo+Beuys.

Not so long ago, my solo posters exhibition took place in Batumi, Georgia, and it seemed that there was nothing more logical than to create a poster for a poster exhibition.

To emphasize that the exhibition will feature contemporary typographic works, I decided to contact Alex Slobzheninov, the type designer and author of contemporary and impressive fonts.

The choice fell on a super-early-release of his Diaform (v0.1 demo) – a play between strict geometry and lively flourishes, which are hidden in stylistic alternatives. Moreover, in order to move away from the usual format, non-display alternates are brought to the foreground when display lively alternates have moved to the back.

The poster measuers 70×100cm and was digitally printed on a matte self-adhesive vinyl.

Silvia and Antonia Terhedebrügge founded the studio in Berlin at the age of 10 and 8 when they built their first sandcastle.

The recent redesign of designer Scott Kellum's personal website goes full monospaced, combining both styles of Nostra (Sett and Stream) with Rüdiger's unmistakable Arnold.
The typography plays a particularly central role in the dedicated photography page, where its generous size, together with the reduced palette of black, white and red(s), complements Kellum's sensible and often atmospheric pictures.
