RE is an augmented reality scavenger activation established to change the narrative of plastic consumption and disposal and evoke a new future for our planet. This project breaks away from the traditional doom and gloom message around plastics. Instead, RE uses a visual language that makes plastics fun to talk about, rewarding to participate in and intriguing to learn about.

Toronto-based photographer and designer AJ Marshall used Everett throughout his thesis project RE. It includes an app and a process book.

Cover design (and poster design) for the first issue in 2020 of the Japanese design magazine ブレーン / Brain. We took advantage of this space to transgress a little bit from the norm of what constitutes a cover illustration and thus made an arbitrary, non-exhaustive selection of beautiful books. This work also echoes our habit of making lists/classifications for everything, like movies, artists, restaurants, etc.

The typefaces use for the contribution are Lausanne 600 and Mono, both designed by Nizar Kazan. The Japanese fonts used for the magazine header are unidentified [edit: They have been identified by Akira, see comments].

Reziume (“Resume”) is an event series taking place at Space Bar in Šiauliai, Lithuania. Despite the fact that it’s an electronic music oriented event the people behind the project have a strong sense for visual aesthetics, too.

Besides the custom made photograph, everything is based on typography. This starts with the logo which is made from the capital R from Chapter by Good Type Toundry. Furthermore, the title as well as the date and venue are set in Condor. The artists’ names are in BT Brik (XXL Oblique) by TDF and Acumin by Adobe.

The design direction for this project is an exploration of hip-hop themes through a more refined and multifaceted lens. Reflection and perspective shifts are the cohesion factor between the proposed concepts. We aim to pay homage to the history of rap music and “hood” films while also unfolding the personal narrative Cousin Stizz adds to the fabric of the genre.

What happens when the party and the after party is over and you’re the only one awake and in search of something more? This is the scene we set in this cover concept. TTFMNT is an album to play at kickbacks and in the whip, it’s laced with head bobbing bangers and introspective insight.We want to set the setting and also convey that there is something more beyond it. A bird’s eye view of Stizz looking for what’s beyond while standing in the aftermath of his previous thrills.

Here Magazine is the travel magazine by Away Travel Luggage that tells compelling, thoughtful and unique travel stories through the lens of local, creative, and influential people. The magazine is designed by Chloe Scheffe and uses a wide array of typefaces like Girott Bold by Radim Pesko, News Plantin, GT America and GT Zirkon. Antoine Omerin is a photographer and film maker based in Paris, France. His portfolio website is set in Arial Regular and ISO Light, a typeface designed by Scribble Tone and available via Future Fonts. Headlines use Arial Regular.

ISO was originally designed for our project exif.co, an image embedding service. It was inspired by old cameras, specifically Leicas and Nikons, which have really warm, slightly goofy, and tactile engraved text all over.

Initially released as a single Regular weight typeface, ISO got a Bold in 2018 and was expanded to five weights from Thin to Black in February 2019.

In June 2018, the art center Synesthésie inaugurated their new workspace and the long-awaited transition to a new name, MMAINTENANT.

For this occasion, they commissioned a double-poster, designed by Bonjour Monde (in charge of their visual communication since 2017) using Syne, the atypical type family originally created for the art center and later released under open-source license.

The design, much like the rest of the identity, is strongly inspired by the idea of stuttering as phrased by French artist Matthieu Saladin: “One gets aware of one's own time when the present starts stuttering.”

“Non-central Moscow” is a student project made by Viktoria Makeeva at the HSE Art and Design School in Moscow. The typography uses the Regular, Bold and Italic weight of CSTM Xprmntal 02, a set of three stylistically different typeface explorations by CSTM Fonts.

This visual research is part of a thesis on branding in Central Moscow. VI considers the phenomenon of noncentrality, the main characterizing its concepts. VI is made in the genre of the author's book and is inspired by the alphabet. Under each letter is the concept from Central Moscow, its definition and photographic materials. — hse.ru

The RIAS Kammerchor chamber choir was founded in 1948 and is one of Berlin’s most prestigious musical institutions. The choir has been the first to perform a number of pieces, and its repertory includes work by Arvo Pärt, György Ligeti, and Max Reger. RIAS has received numerous international honors and awards for musical excellence. Fons Hickmann M23 designed a brand-new corporate identity for all of the choir’s media in honor of its 70th anniversary. Cover art created for Tizmoret’s single “River”, featuring an a cappella version of an original song by Bishop Briggs. The cover was designed by Bentzion Goldman and Nina Sivan, using Druk Condensed and ITC Galliard in both Roman and Italic weights.

Poster for a spacial acoustic performance by Infrasound at the Recombinant Festival in San Francisco. Infrasound attempts to take sound's raw physical power to the built environment, to play the building in which they perform, making the physical space a direct component of the art within.

Ads for the Swiss Institute Contemporary Art New York.

Swiss Institute is an independent non-profit contemporary art institution dedicated to promoting forward-thinking and experimental art making through innovative exhibitions and programs. It used Regular as their corporate typeface from 2001 to 2006.

Virtual magazine covers for Mama Market, a mushroom-based hotpot cuisine. It’s best known for its hot flavor, due to the generous use of chilis from Tsuchuan, China. I used fluorescent green to convey the feeling of spiciness, and a thunderbolt as a reference to the shape of Rattan. The images are used as posters on Instagram, Wechat, Weibo and many other social media channels.

Program and poster proposal designed to promote A natural history of power (Una història natural del poder), a cycle of selected screenings of films by Adam Curtis, a British documentary maker and writer focused on social issues and politics. Shown in November and December 2018 at Xcèntric, the cinema of the CCCB.

Visual identity for Sport-Étude, a magazine about athletes. Every issue of Sport-Étude will present the portrait of one athlete. The magazine, with 4,000 copies printed, will be distributed for free. Co-founded by Julien Soulier & David Bellion. Commissioned by Première Heure Production & Supervision Office. Size: 24.5 × 32.5 cm, 20 pages.

Ludwig Black and Atma Serif is a pairing I will never grow tired of. Ludwig has its own intended serif partner, Arnhem, but I’m not sure that face is great for literary applications. An original “transitional” design with a low x-height, Atma stands up well as a literary typeface—pretty but not precious. The capitals are a bit on the narrow side, the varied small cap sets to choose from give a lot of freedom in text settings as well as the occasional display use (though the details are not quite sharp enough at large point sizes). Ludwig is a deceptive workhorse—a quirky, old-style grotesque with small caps and a very functional italic.

When it came to creating a unified design for a poetry book and a companion cassette single, the pairing offered the right mix of character and neutrality. Ludwig lends an artisanal quality to the titles in the poetry book and evokes dry transfer letters in the more garish palette of the cassette. Atma (which appears only in the book) holds its own against the look-at-me details of the sans. That it’s not a legacy font helps a bit, I think.
