Mono Ring has been a bestseller for many years, and far more than 1’000’000 units of flatware were sold worldwide. The portfolio grew and grew – from teaspoons to corkscrews to coat hangers. Five years after its debut, Mono Ring design was recognized and added to the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, a sig­nificant recognition for both the designer and the manufacturer. — ring.mono.de

Nuovo Devoto-Oli. Il vocabolario dell'italiano contemporaneo is a new version of one of the best-known monolingual dictionaries of the Italian language. Named after Giacomo Devoto and Gian Carlo Oli, it is edited by Luca Serianni and Maurizio Trifone since 2004. Devoto-Oli is published annually by the Le Monnier publishing house.

Fifty years after the first publication, the New Devoto-Oli is out. Not a new edition, but a new idea of ​​a dictionary: a slender volume and a richer digital version, strongly integrated with each other, for a user experience that responds to the needs of the contemporary reader. The printed version, completely renewed in the graphics, presents pages that can be easily consulted thanks to the ‘navigation triplets’ and to an organization of the lemmas that allows to quickly find the desired information.

Designed by Leftloft using Sole Serif (CAST), Nitti Grotesk (Bold Monday) and Leftloft’s own LFT Iro Sans Symbols (TypeTogether).

Yellow is an architectural agency based in Montpellier, France. For their identity, Bureau 205 paired Maax Mono, the monospaced version of Maax, with Dala Floda.

Tangent GC is a Scandinavian company developing organic garment and shoe care products that intend to ensure longevity. The company’s brand identity, a simple utilitarian typographical expression, designed by Essen International, delivered a sense of information clarity through the rejection of superfluous visual language or superficial graphic detail and divided content only by the typesetting of Akkurat Mono.

Venturing into organic personal skincare, Tangent GC worked with London-based Carl Nas Associates to build on the visual language laid down by Essen International, with a similar approach to packaging, whilst introducing a beta version of Akkurat Mono Bold and a launch campaign of dynamic image that makes a connection with the brand’s beginnings, visualising fragrance as swirling fabric.

I’ve chosen Interstate Mono because to me this typeface reflects modernity. With its boldness it stands out enough from the other elements, without predominating the visual appearence.

The filmedition suhrkamp (fes) series features cinematographic works by and about authors published by Suhrkamp, including Samuel Beckett, Thomas Bernhard, Pierre Bourdieu, Bertolt Brecht, Jacques Derrida, Marguerite Duras, Max Frisch, Jean-Luc Godard, Peter Handke, Ödön von Horváth, Alexander Kluge, Robert Walser and many more. The DVDs are produced in cooperation with absolut Medien. The series was started in 2008 and comprises 33 issues to date.

The text is arranged in concentric semicircles, in black or white on a colored ground. The typeface in use in Corporate S, the sans-serif branch of Kurt Weidemann’s Corporate ASE trilogy that was originally designed for Daimler-Benz in the late 1980s.
