Organisation, branding and social media communication for BWOOOOHHHH: three days of music experimentation in Milan, Italy, including DIY instument construction workshop and a solo performance. The event featured Yuri Landman (Hypercustom), a Dutch inventor of musical instruments, and took place at Circolo IAM. BWOOOOHHHH is an onomatopoeia which me and Yuri Landman came up with. Brrr is used with some faux diacritics. It’s paired with Clifton Italic.

Pizzería Rosa is a new pizza restaurant in Montevideo, Uruguay. Their identity, designed by Martin Azambuja uses Maruder. Connected with gentle illustrations and a pinkish set of colours, the design creates a balanced, friendly (and romantic) look.

Maruder appears on pizza boxes, in the sign above the entrance, on staff clothing as well as on promotional pictures. It is accompanied by Gotham HTF.

BLVD Agency have been working with Salon Communications Inc. on a number of brand growth initiatives this year. They asked Studio Wyse to collaborate on the redesign of Salon Magazine, the most trusted source for salon owners and stylists on the latest trends.

Studio Wyse:

As a primary display typeface, we used Eksell, by Letters from Sweden. It has these sharp, triangular serifs and extreme contrast between the thick and thin strokes. It's an odd letter set, with some really strange characters but a perfect choice for a publication dedicated to tracking often polarizing hair and beauty trends. Eksell is supported by Ivar Text and Lab Grotesque, also by Letters from Sweden.

Canadian design agency Concrete revamped French perfumer Thomas Kosmala’s brand in early 2018. They used Bureau Brut’s distinctive Traulha for all texts, perfume names and the name tag, paired with Studio Triple’s Digestive for the monogram and a few discreet recalls of the brand. The identity deploys a subtle use of black and white with a clear attention for the packaging matters: glass, embossed paper… This attention to detail can be found in their use of bokeh in photographs.

The revamped brand marries classic visual cues associated with the traditions of perfumeries with a more contemporary ethos. Sensuous and provocative photography conveys the depth and richness of the scents, but is abstracted in packaging to comply with the conservative sensibilities of the Middle-eastern market. — Concrete

The twenty-third newsletter of the Museum of Printing and Graphic Communication in Lyon has just come out. Layout by Bureau 205, featuring Yoann Minet’s Clifton as the main display typeface.

On his second album Slow Knife, electronic musician Kuedo takes cues from his work as a sound designer and commercial composer, introducing elements of cello in to his ultra precise take on dance music. The sleeve is just as sleek, with the Jan Horčík’s beta version of Atlantic mirroring exact cuts and contrast.
