The starting point of the Tigris a múzeumban (“tiger in a museum”) event series is the relationship between museum, book, and reading, viewed from different perspectives, and over time. Kenneth Hudson (1916-1999) was an English journalist and museologist, creator of the concept and method of industrial archeology. The phrase “A tiger in a museum is a tiger in a museum and not a tiger” draws attention to the difference between the everyday world and the museum world, which must be shown and understood, and not hidden. The tiger as a concept also refers to the role of the museum in the colonial and post-colonial approach, the early links between zoos and museums, the museum display of stuffed animals and the visually rich world of animal portrayal. Tigris a múzeumban is a joint series of the Museum of Ethnography’s MaDok program and Lumen Café, which launches an additional episode every 1.5 months.

The 2018 Core77 Conference takes place in October 2018 in Brooklyn, and will focus on starting and running a design business, or launching your own product line. The typefaces used for the website are Freight Text designed by Joshua Darden and ZIGZAG Not Rounded designed by Benoît Bodhuin.

Pamban is a Chai & Coffee house, a place for meeting, drinking, talking and connecting. We worked closely with the founders Mayhul and Aruna, from start to finish, to ensure that it was a brand and space that embodied its purpose.

The space itself was designed as a modern interpretation of a traditional Indian coffee house – a place where people crowd around small tables to talk, drink, eat and play boardgames. With the help of production partners Goldfinger Factory this vibrant space was realised within Camden Stables, where it is building a reputation as a genuinely original offer within a crowded and competitive London coffee market.

From branding and illustrations on the wall to logo and menus, all type is set in the boldest family member of Gill Sans, Gill Kayo (assisted by Farnham). Despite its worldwide presence, Gill Sans can be considered a ‘local type’ in London: it was designed by London resident Eric Gill, who drew inspiration from the typeface that Edward Johnston designed for the London underground. (Eric was part of the team that assisted Johnston, but dropped out before the work on the ‘Underground’ typeface was finished).

Adaption of an existing identity on the occasion of handing over the family-owned painting business (est. 1977) to the next generation. The logo with the initials of Adrian Gossolt is a combination of the letters ‘a’ and ‘G’ from Othmar Motters’ Motter Ombra (1973).
